Nobody remembers Glen Plake

I was up at Tamarack today and parked by Plake's mobile shop/RV. We never did find him and his posse. The sad part was whenever I chatted up folks on the chair or any lifties about Plake's whereabouts, nobody had a fucking clue as to who he was/is. My generation has officially faded into irrelevance.
Sad.

How big is that place? Seems the antithesis of a small tour where you can’t find him?

hey, guys-
I don't think we need to feel bad for Plake -
He 's still out there, doing what he does, promoting Skiing!
That day, he may have been off on a tour, or just laying-low in the RV.
especially at sixty, the man cannot be On all of the time.
it took me a while ( I have always been a Schmidt guy ), but GlenPlake has endured !

long live GlenPlake ! !!

I'm not lamenting Glen Plake's plight in life. I just found it interesting how ski icons cycle with the generations. I myself, am a Hattrup guy. We share the same haircut.

Was at tam yesterday. Hung out w him at his rig late am. Gave him a bunch of Le tits now stickers at brundage the day before. He offered to wax my skis.

He's in Cham 6-9 months a yr. Told me he almost killed himself backflipping at the little ski hill a couple days ago. Dude is a character in the best way.

Thx for everything Glen. You're the best!

I’m old enough to remember him getting banned from the village for smashing another dude with an ashtray.
PS. What’s an ashtray?
Kill all the telemarkers
But they’ll put us in jail if we kill all the telemarkers
Telemarketers! Kill the telemarketers!
Oh we can do that. We don’t even need a reason

Truth. Cat had a TGR sticker on his skis and looked at me all weird like when I asked for change.

Rode the lift and skied a couple of laps with Glen on Friday! He on a mom and pop, independent type tour. I think he said Cottonwood tomorrow. We talked Jackass and it’s on the list.Without the hawk up, he’s easy to miss. The guy definitely loves to rip and brings the stoke! That laugh is infectious…

He's on a 182 108 waist elan. Interestingly he had a full KUHL ski kit on. Skis looked solid.

Oh, he's very popular. The sportos, the motorheads, geeks, sluts, bloods, wastoids, dweebies, dickheads - they all adore him. They think he's a righteous dude.

I laughed.

Only the meek get pinched. The bold survive.

Plake is bold.

I was at Blue Mountain PA on Sat and all the young snowboarders and lifties were gushing over a Pro snowboarder who was hosting an event. Turned out to be Zeb Powell, who I'd never heard of until this weekend. Goes both ways
