FS: 186 Voile Hyper Manti, one mount, new this year.

$300 Bought new this year, skied less than ten days, one mount only.
Nothing bad to say about these. Got them for lapping pow and deeper missions and they are just awesome at that. Can go v fast and have a solid tail that transitions well from a slarve to a locked in carve. Float to weight ratio is best in the biz. 1470g! Just decided I want to go fatter for my pow ski (Hyper V8) and make my 105-waisted ski more of a crud buster -and accepting the weight penalty that entails. One set of holes for Radical ST on rec at 308. Tahoe or Boulder.

Yeah, saw the question and will answer here since it was more of a tech discussion that others might be able to help with. You asked about the Manti as a pow touring ski for Canada hut trips and you already have a 190 Atris for inbounds. I am not familiar with the Atris, but looked at a review and it seems similar on paper. It has the same role of a playful all-mountain ski that can handle most fresh snow days up to maybe 16 inches, depending on density. I thoroughly enjoyed a steep shot of 6 inches of fairly dense, cold snow (fell with lots of turbulence) and could really let them run in those conditions, with the tail putting afterburner in the finish of the turn. At the same time, the tips being similar to the V6, a playful powder ski, and the progressive mount, the Mantis are very easy to pivot around in tight trees and the first couple turns of a tight chute. Not sure if you are getting a heli bump and then only human-powered vert at the hut, but they should do great in Canadian snow. They will be among the lighter skis out there, which you will have you feeling fresher than everyone else at the end of the week of touring. If not for too much overlap, they would still be in my quiver for farming pow turns when there is a stash a couple days after the storm that takes a little more effort to get to or I wanted to go hit the Desolation Wilderness peaks, east side peaks. You did not say how much you weigh or where you usually tour, but as long as you embrace that these are lighter skis trading top speed for efficiency, then I would say these are your ski.

Thanks man, appreciate that. Yeah I’m Six Foot, OneSeventy; tour mostly here in the CO Rockies on light snow. I’d primarily use it for soft snow only and the Canada trip will be all human powered. I think I have to decide if I want a slightly lighter ski or would prefer the all-in performance of a slightly heavier pow touring ski

Definitely a Colorado snow-friendly ski. If you want something beefier, I am also selling just-as-new Völkl VTA 108, new this year with one mount for Alpinist at 320

Someone buy these, they are awesome skis for all winter conditions, especially in rockies snow. More backbone than the V6/V8 but still super fun
