Looks like they fixed that per Blister review of the new release. But yeah, the old lever sucked. The aftermarket replacement from Freedom Coast made them my favorite brakes.</p>

    I have XT's and SLX's and I can't distinguish.

Both of them could put me over the bars if I locked up the front. The XT s did the first day I rode them when converting from old 2 bucket XT s! That said, I am not a chair lift guy, and my longer decents are around 3 K.

Some of y'all need to use sintered pads.
Anyway. Can I be a dick about mineral oil v DOT fluid? I'm not even talking about performance. I'm talking about not using something so toxic and corrosive on my bicycle. It's insane that anyone still uses DOT brake fluid.
    No longer stuck.

    Dot fluid is superior.
    1) it's available anywhere for cheap.
    2) it's standardized so you know what you're getting.
    3) it's hydroscopic, so you don't end up with free floating water in your brake line that has a (relatively) low boiling point.

I'm not particularly concerned about DOT fluid's toxicity since I'm not drinking the stuff. It's a mild skin irritant, which is pretty much a total non issue for the handful of times a year that I'm working with it. I take some mild precautions to keep from dumping it all over my bike, which negates the issue of it messing up the paint.

the best brakes/$ are Lewis, by far not even close. LH4s have massive power and build quality, and are light too (especially for a 4 piston caliper). Uses Hope pads.I strongly encourage you to check them out.

What is their lever like? From the pics, I can not decide if it is going to be a nice dainty one finger blade, or a big butter knife.

And how do you order them? I couldn’t figure it out on their site. Low tolerance for unintuitive shopping.

I kind of liked the lever on the 4-pot TRPs on my costco covid bike.

The little dimples/holes felt nice on my fingers.

Yeah, I dont mind them either. I dont have huge mitts, and was prepared to get the FC levers before I bought them based on internet chatter, but the stock TRPs have worked out well.
