RIP. So Sad. Naming is incorrect. The Fingers are lookers left of the slide. Locally, those lines are known from lookers right to left as Zero Chute, The Choke, The Chuckle, The Knuckle and Ball and Chain.

There looks to be a snowboard track above the crown top of zero chute.

I would know the names as here, or just “the cliffs”

Aging myself here, but I recently had some old VHS tapes digitized, including a bunch of lines in that zone. Watching them, I've often wondered how good or bad my decision making really was back then. I know I had a beacon and shovel, but I'm not sure if everyone else did. Ah, to be 20 again. It was spring in a fat year so maybe it was all good.

Anyway, that was a big slide that connected a lot of features. RIP to the skier/rider.

Very very sad. This was my friends' daughter's 3rd grade teacher. They have already gone through a tough year of loss. The mental load is stacking. +Vibes all day.

I've had hanging meadow go wall to wall with me on it in more favorable avy conditions. Can't even imagine going into North Chute on a day like Saturday.

^^^Same with Loveland Pass for me and friends when I was new to the area in 1992. Thought it was the greatest thing ever and hadnt a care in the world about avalanches.

Learned pretty quick though, luckily without being involved in one. Seems like there were quite a few deaths in my time in Breck.

Everybody grieves in their own way, but they could at least plug traveling safely in the back country instead of glorifying riding that terrain on a day with high avalanche danger.

How about the last run video? That might actually deter some people.

I remember when they showed pictures of avalanche mangled bodies in Avy 1. It sure made you realize how serious it could get.

That video helps ... Helps make sure you have a fucking partner with you. Among other gigantic red flags.
