My phone and computer auto completed the URL, so I thought the forums had been down all summer long. I only learned otherwise because I got a new phone. I imagine there's a number of folks in the same boat

Kinda sums it up for me.
IG, FB, threads & Bluesky just don’t work like this. I know how the system works, and I still get sucked into the ignorant comments from, (people?), that are not a part of a “group”. It’s infuriating.
We have a text group with our close friends who travel, and I like it, but now I feel it would be a great addition to what this was.

Iceman has a list set up on Discord but not much traffic as of now unfortunately. I'm in a canoe group on Discord that is an adjunct to a Reddit group and the place is absolutely great...everyone is a real person...and they feel like my people if that is possible. Hard to keep up and pointers to information are tough but I could see it working next to this place or a Reddit, which has its place but...meh...too impersonal and too easy for riff raff to join in.
