My son is competing in the Freeride comp at Kirkwood this weekend (Sunday 1/26/25). Anyone with any recent experience have thoughts on if it's even worth booting up while I'm there? I'm 15 mins from Rose and I won't even bother with these conditions.

I skied DirtWood on Wednesday. I'd be really surprised if they held a competitiion on Sunday, espeically since it supposed to get colder this weekend. I skied from nine to one, and keep a close eye on chair ten, and the only people I saw getting on the chair were two ski patrol. I tried a little off piste and it was no bueno.

Bring skis with sheets of metal and sharp edges. Some turns are loud, some less so. Plenty of fast smooth snow. 1-3" and wind and it should ski great.
