    WTB: 168 Peak 88

    This post is embarrassing.

But my wife tried a pair, and it’s the literally the best and fastest I’ve ever seen her ski by a long shot. She was skiing at a fast pace non-stop top to bottom and said it’s the most fun she’s had on a pair of skis

Anyone holding or see a cheap pair?

PMs are okay, and I won’t out you.

Check skitalk. People were buying them up over there when they were 2-for-1. I remember a bunch of people subsequently selling them shorty after as well.

Try your local Jaguar dealership. They might have a pair...

It is a bit sad that Elan is totally willing to put metal in their Ripsticks and have Andy Wirth sell them, but not willing to put metal in the ones with their own names on them (though who knows what kind of agreement they may have signed on this feature).

So is the ripstick 88 basically the same ski without metal?

I don’t know if anyone has confirmed that publicly, but there was a lot of conjecture when Peak first launched due to country of origin and shape/sizes. People on TGR seem to take it as truth.

I saw a guy at Alta two weeks ago with some Peaks. He said they are the best skis ever. They practically do the skiing for you, he said.

I tried some peak 106 and thought they were super lackluster. But my wife was skiing like a bat out of hell on the 88s and skiing at my pace, so I wasn’t going to argue.

    Still looking.
