Not answering the question at hand has given me a good excuse to bump this madness.

Current song in the head is Neighbourhood #1 (Tunnels) by the Arcade Fire:

And if the snow buries my,
    my neighbourhood.
And if my parents are crying
    then I'll dig a tunnel
    from my window to yours,
yeah a tunnel from my window to yours.

    You climb out the chimney
and meet me in the middle,
    the middle of town.
And since there's no one else around,
we let our hair grow long
and forget all we used to know,
    then our skin gets thicker
from living out in the snow.

    You change all the lead
    sleepin' in my head,
    as the day grows dim
I hear you sing a golden hymn.

Then we tried to name our babies,
but we forgot all the names that,
the names we used to know.
But sometimes, we remember our bedrooms,
    and our parent's bedrooms,
and the bedrooms of our friends.
Then we think of our parents,
well what the hell ever happened to them?!

    You change all the lead
sleepin' in my head to gold,
    as the day grows dim,
I hear you sing a golden hymn,
the song I've been trying to sing.

Purify the colors, purify my mind.
Purify the colors, purify my mind,
and spread the ashes of the colors
    in this heart of mine.

Sick and ashamed and happy (and snow filled),
    d.

Nice fucking TR dude! You got some great shots...I'll show you mine if you show me the REST of yours!

And song stuck in the head- Led Zepplin's Ramble On. That is one of my favorites to listen to in the morning on the way up to the hill. However, I too have a Hop freestyle original that was stuck in my head for a while...I believe it was his rendition set to the tune of "You've lost that loving feeling" by the Everly Brothers wherein he sang about how he had lost his hairbrush. That still makes me laugh thinking about it.

God damn that was a fun trip!

What kind of trade is that?!?!?!

Hmmm...maybe I'd better keep my mouth shut (thoughts of Mick Jagger going through my head right now...no not in a David Bowie way you filthy apes).

Ramble On rules. I'll have to add some Zep to my repetoir. Speaking of which, LZIII makes for a great road trip disc.

While we're on the topic of music, I regret pulling the trigger on Dramamine too early. Damn song got me all amped up and then Marte didn't open that day.

Also, please tell me you have pics of hop sans hairbrush. I would have been like, "No, Mav. No, she hasn't."

Great TR Arty. I'm guessing you've got your hands on Richard Ashcroft's solo albums as well? Alone with Everybody is rock solid.

The song that will be playing next time I ski pow will be Gong by Sigur Ros.

    Thanks!

Actually, I haven't checked out his solo stuff yet. It's on a long list of stuff I want to listen to. The breakup kinda soured me on Ashcroft, but I hear his solo stuff has been really good. I've always loved Nick McCabe's guitar work. Great musician.

Speaking of skiing with music, I've never done it in the past because I like to hear what's going on around me. But I think I'm gonna break down this season and get an iPod. Especially now that I have a computer with Firewire. There's just too many songs that I'd like to play while ripping a line. Until then, I'll just have to live with what's in my head.

Nice bump. So I finally broke down this year and started skiing with music. I was standing at the top of my favorite run at the Wood when the perfect song came on. It's a song I've listened to a thousand times while driving to the hill and I've always dreamed of taking a run to it. And there I was, a beautiful pow day, my line in front of me...untracked. I took a second to look around, say thanks for the moment, cranked the iPod, and dropped in. I skied that line like I'd always dreamed. It was a moment that made my season.

    The song? "Kyuss" by Juned.

There is always a song that pops up in my head at the right moment during a day of skiing, and it all fits so perfectly and the music in my head seems to add another higher level of pleasure from all the turns done in the day.. it sort of happesn, naturally , some unknown part of my sometimes annoyingly large and precise musical memories selects the right track and pushes the play button.. thanks man , you reminded me of those special times .. just a month more before I am back there, again
And there is this other Verve song that was 'on' a lot of times last winter- come on /
    Come on

    Come on
    Let the spirit inside you
    Don't wait to be found
    Come along with my sound
    Let the spirit move you
    Let the waves come up
    They'll fuse you
I never met no one to deny a sound

and so many many others.. I will shortly start working on my ultimate skiing playlist to be used in special days this winter

Awesome thread, and a nice resurrection.

Depends on how the skin-up is going. Songs just sort of make their way into my head unannounced.

Like the other day I was sucking air bad, couldn't get 'I'm coming undone'/Korn out of my head.

Another day everything was just foolish and giddy. Got 'Dancing Queen'/Abba stuck. Didn't let my partners know otherewise they woulda pushed me over the cliff. No more fucking Abba!

Last slog up it was 'How to Save a Life'/Fray. I'm so embarrassed to admit I know the chorus to that song. And avy hazard wasn't even bad that day.

Some sick pics arty, definitely makes me want to get there. As for songs, ya'll seem to have really good songs stuck in your head. I spent the entire day doing a fall cleanup aka blowing leaves and the damn song I was stuck with was the soundtrack to the A-Team, I couldn't shake it all day.

The Song in Your Head - SA TR

Arty awesome pics of LL and song, ah the memories. As I received my residency last month and as the first gringo in and the last one out of Argentina this season (finally leaving out of BA tomorrow) thought I would put up some random shots of 2006 from Bariloche and LL as well as a very
well known Argentine classic rock song by Pastillas Del Abuelos, one of my favorites.......
