Roof Box / Menabo?

I was talking to the brains of the operation about getting one and then of course got a targeted ad a few minutes later for a local dealer hawking these Italian ones I've never heard of.

The guys shop isn't too far away so I figure I'll kick a couple and see if they crumple. It's about the same specs as the Thule Force XT XL, maybe nicer looking, 30%+ less.

It has MEN in the title which isn't great but only costs a bit more than mounting someone else's used box and who wants to do that?

Reading the old threads on roof boxes, it seems like no matter what I'll have moisture issues, a lock problem, and a cracked unit in no time. Sweet!

Buy a Yakima or Thule from a reputable dealer like REI and then you will have Yakima, Thule, and REI behind you if you need warrantee help. If it doesn't say Yakima, Thule, or Big Sky it's not going on my roof.
