    Powderwhore PW05 Denver Premiere

An upstart Wasatch-based film company, Powderwhore has shot what's being called the deepest telemark powder skiing ever captured on film. If you thought telemarking was about wool knickers and granola, Powderwhore is about to turn your world upside down.

    Nov 4 in Denver is a triple-treat...

    1. The Denver premiere of PW05.

    2. The grand re-opening of the historic Oriental Theater in the Highlands neighborhood

    3. Live music by local artists Lynn Patrick and the Boulder-based instrumental surf stylings of the Aquasonics.

There will be chances to score lift tickets, bindings, packs, beacons, lodging, clothing, DVDs, and tons of other really cool stuff.

... and all of this in support of Friends of Berthoud Pass.

Advance tickets are available online at TheOrientalTheater.com, at local area merchants or thru Friends of Berthoud Pass.

Details to come, and if you'd like to contribute in any way, we could use the help. Just let us know or fire away questions at: fobp_info@yahoo.com

Yup. It was off to a great start and I had a feeling it was going to be epic, but then it was turned out to just be a teaser with no downhill goodness. Maybe they will get it fixed soon...

If you get to see the whole trailer, it all makes sense. Check this out though (some shots from the film)

    Windows Media, 12MB
    MPEG, 30MB

Their NET film was good too, but I can't see it online

maybe teleers are just filled with soul on such a deep level i can't comprehend it, but it seems like none of thier trailors are anything but hiking and deep powder turns. i mean thats fun to do, but gets old watching. not quite enough to make a whole movie about.

Mitch has a couple of the teasers up... can't find their private contest clip on their website anymore but it didn't have much skining. http://www.telemarktips.com/Moviepage.html (just scroll down or ctrl-F whore, edg linked to a couple but mitch has a selection of sizes/formats)

Please rest assured that while it will feature a lot of really, really, really deep pow skiing all of these guys take it to the stage and there will be PLENTY of hucking and steep pow maching. The 'ho's encompass one of the micro-centers of tele-excellence, nobody rips harder.

Too bad the teaser (emphasis on the word teaser) didn't load all the way but it is mostly skining with some pow at the end.

damned, skining is a hard word for me to type.

ASB- I'm gonna go out on a pretty stout limb here and say that yeah, you probably won't understand it at all.

If I go will Pinner talk to me? Also, the PoHo videos have yet to disappoint, deep snow and really good telemark skiing.

    Well, how embarrassing...

The event is Friday Nov 4, the first Friday in November.

The Tennyson galleries and shops hold monthly First Friday open houses, where they stay open late and set out beer, wine, cheese, cookies etc and have artists present their work, chat with the public etc. It's usually a pretty lively time to be in the neighborhood and several times I've walked home with cool, offbeat, art-type stuff.

It's going to be an incredible event, supporting a new upstart film company, a new upstart theatre venture, local artists, musicians, performers etc. with all proceeds going to support our efforts at preserving safe access to the Berthoud Pass backcountry.

Wait until you hear the big news re: avalanche courses this year. Should be ready to announce it this week. (Dirk Diggler's gonna love us!)

Yeah, but we all know it only takes 3 feet of pow to bury a hippie on his knees. Except for Greydon of course, he's like a slender reed in the wind.

    Yeah I know, I just couldn't resist.

Seriously though, I don't think I could ever tele. I'm too lazy. Mucho props to all you freeheelers out there.

Don't confuse "Freeheel" and "Telemark", two totally different things. Rumor is Lemon and Hop were gonna make cameos but got the ix-nay because they don't tele.

    The benefits of tele: none

The benfits of free heel skiing: drive with you're boots on, more poon (which is why I'd have thought the married Lemon would have quite by now)
