    RIP Slim Dunlap

Slim Dunlap was the Replacements’ lead guitarist, taking over for Bob Stinson (RIP as well) in 1987 after Stinson got kicked out. Dunlap was great, the Mats are one of my very favorite bands. Dunlap was in other bands and put out some solo albums after the Replacements cratered.

LOVE The Replacements, though only know the name of one band member.

Thanks for posting this Skipper; had not heard that sad news yet. The 'Mats are probably my most favorite band EVER! RIP Slim

    RIP

    The Replacements were vastly overrated

Interesting that the track you included was a cover. The original was much better.

Not in my opinion, at all. Actually, they were largely overlooked.

    fact

I picked that track for Dunlap’s playing and the solo, not for some kind of “this is the best of the Mats”
