It's a direct to consumer brand, but I believe they are made by Blossom https://www.blossomski.com/?lang=en and may be offered in different flexes.

No, only the first year R87/R99/R120 were made by Blossom. The rest are made in the factory in China that built DPS skis before DPS moved production to the states (don’t recall the name off the top of my head).

Edit: Telos Splitboards in China unless Marshall moved production.

HL is direct to consumer. Small batch pre orders. Next one is coming up I believe.

I have never looked at them. I hate ski with a non linear flex pattern. So can understand that this ski is to dentistry for you. Good luck. Above 190 the air is thin.

    Looking for a replacement ski

Man— fourteen years and fifteen pairs generated two reactions from me—

    A) you absolutely love that ski, and
    B) you stopped learning new things a long time ago.

NTTAWWT. If you’re happy, you’re happy. I still own/ski OG Gotamas every spring in the high alpine on very-well-hated Fritsches.

My midlife crisis is a bit different from yours, but from one legend to another, I’d recommend going out on a limb.

As Pluffen likes to say— order whatever HL ski looks attractive.

Lose the baggage. We don’t ski yesterday. We only get depressed living in our minds of yesterday.

Depression comes from thinking of the past.
Anxiety comes from thinking of the future.
Peace comes from thinking in the now.

Peaceful anticipation comes from dreaming the present into reality.

Buy new skis. I don’t mean another pair— I mean a new design. Order whatever HL you think fits the bill.

I mean, you have extra skis to hold you over in the interim.

    Oh— and Tech Talk, JONG!

How does one destroy that many pairs of Kastle mx98's in that amount of time? Asking for my friends who cherish theirs.

I think OP is one of those stronger, powerhouse skiers that like the crispness of new glass. Whereas I prefer a ski that’s broken in, they refer to that as clapped out.

I think every ski I’ve owned got better after 20-30 days. But I’ve met a bunch of people who hate skis older than 100 days.

I’m a finesse skier. Those powerhouse guys always intrigued me. They make me feel inadequate.

I've known SDP for 30+ years. He's one of the best, in a town full of really good skiers. He's big, strong and charges hard.
I think a custom Iggy is probably his best bet.

That's what I was hoping to hear. Firsthand notes since SDP isn't flexing for us.

The upside of the price is superb durability, as stiff as you can handle and literally any variation one is willing to pay for. Not to mention an ace of a builder who enjoys getting to know his clients. And he's a world class skier himself.

That link worked fine for me.

And thanks for the Monty Python rabbit hole, Danno. Enjoyed that for an hour...

    You too kind Carl.

The ski always delams for me under the heal piece after [emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji[emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji640][emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]]]-[emoji[emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji640][emoji639]][emoji[emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji640][emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]]] days. I need to go to Utah.
    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

Thanks BCSAR and POWMOW Ski Patrol for rescues

Damn, you have had the Kastle blinders on.

It's an older Dynastar model that is very stout, roughly a rectangle and skis like a tank in mud.
With weight, technique and a serious power reserve, one can charge a lot of conditions but it's basically a brodozer for beginning experts. Master skiers bailed on it as lacking response and needlessly heavy. In a word, it's a plank.
Just one opinion tho. I'm sure some mag lives and dies by them.

I'da argued that mx98 was a rather one trick pony but it's a thoroughbred compared to the XXL Percheron.
At the end of the day, the best skier can make pretty much any ski dance, yes?

I am intrigued by the delamming of so many burly metal skis at the heel.
Hmmmm. You don't land a lot of back seat airs do ya?
