Approx 90% of Canadians accepted scientist and medical recommendations.

Were some (many) of these recommendations overboard? Oh yes.

Was it overkill to lock down so much for so long. In retrospect probably yes.

Did some people get insanely Karen on recommendations and guidelines. Oh yes.

But there was social cohesion and community buy in. People genuinely looked out for each other.

If the new deal is still a tariff but lower and plus US made cars will have interest on finance tax deductible will still kill Canadian auto . I would wish for an econ divorce , give us 3 years with low tariffs ramping up to 25% . So in 3 years trade will be reduced by 90%. No more oil trade. Only way for US to get Canadian is thru a 3rd party.
