See we can all get along! Most Canadians know that Trump supporters cannot find Canada on a map let alone come up here to visit. You just happened to run into the not so rare Canadian that is an asshole. Assholes are everywhere.

Fuck man, someone upthread suggested Canada could join the US, swing the electoral college and the House blue forever and fix our shit. Then vote to secede in ten years or so. Honestly, that's sounding better and better. But y'all should be the 51st through 63rd states and get 26 senators. Would be good for the flag industry too, though that's all in China.

Dude, come on. False equivalency. Putin has never threatened to annex Canada. Just to reiterate; your democratically elected leader threatens a country&#39;s sovereignty, begins to put in place economic measures with this goal in mind, and you get upset when those people show a bit of vitriol towards you. Grow-up...</p>

    Imagine this:

Measured by purchasing power parity, China is already the global economic superpower. By straight GDP, they are currently #2 but are predicted to pass the United States within the next two or three decades.

Xi Jinping goes on international media stating that China will severely hobble our current trading relationship with tariffs and trading embargoes unless America is willing to accept its economic fate, and join China as the 24th province.

Of course the Yuan would naturally become the world petro-currency. But you can keep (part of) your name. It will be called Chimerica.

    So we cool with that?

oh i offered but the fact that you and the others would rather post excuses as to why you cant do the job rather than just doing it

Sure, as long as us Canucks get to keep our sovereignty, beer, bacon, boobs, boards, bongs and burgers, we”re cool.

Fucking blowhard Trump making like the big bad wolf, when he is really just the nominal smoke screener for the tech baron Beagle Boys heist-of-the-century squad.

An outrage a day keeps the press astray, I say.

The takeaway from the article is even though "Trump may want a flood of new production, but Wall Street wants profits" means U.S. energy producers are more than capable of drilling more, they prefer to produce less oil to keep prices higher. Which on the flipside means they produce more if prices go up

And Canada essentially gives away their oil and gas at vastly reduced prices to US. We refine it and sell at a profit.

Can’t Canada figure out a way to keep some of those profits in country? Refine in Canada?

    I don’t know the industry.

There hasn't been a major new refinery built since the '70s. They cost billions and the permitting and construction process takes a decade or more. The industry is reluctant to invest that kind of time and money since they think long term demand will soften as BEV sales increase.

Dude, these turds with the American flags on their trucks live on Chinese crap bought at Walmart. It's 100% performative, 0% willing to actually keep their money in the US if an imported product is 10% cheaper, let alone 50% cheaper

    .
You may want to read up on American political science and rethink your thoughts. You have no idea what measures were taken by millions of individuals who opposed Trump's election bid and failed.

Spewing hate towards an ordinary citizen from any country because of their countries government when you have no clue of their political view is beyond ignorant.

Grincb asked about Made in Canada skis. I've got two Priors and one Foon ski. Both made in Canada and tough. Fine skis

    I don't know Skevik.

As far as Canadian clothing or backcountry gear. Not many choices but if you're in the Anything But US camp there are lots of brands

    What hate am I spewing?
Your duly elected president in the ‘greatest democracy on the planet’ is actively destroying your govt’s checks and balances, thumbing his nose at the rule of law, and outright threatening the well being and sovereignty of hitherto allied countries. While I do not agree with or support threats from my countrymen to an individual citizen of the US visiting our country, I can understand why some might lash out in that way - I experienced the same vitriol from both political stripes when visiting the US after Canada said no to joining the invasion of Iraq.

You can argue amongst your countryman all you want about your personal politics and ineffective efforts made to avoid the current shitshow, but unless you meet the terms of persecution and qualify as a refugee seeking asylum, I will continue to regard you as a member citizen of a state that seeks to do harm to this country, and not feel empathetic when you whine about people not talking nice to you when discussing your country’s actions. Just like I recognize my personal responsibility for acknowledging my country’s treatment of Japanese Canadians during WW2, Sikh’s aboard the Komagata Maru, or the social and ecological devastation brought by Canadian mining companies to SA and Africa, not to mention ongoing efforts of reconciliation with our indigenous peoples for a multitude of past wrongs. I am a citizen of this country and its actions reflect on that citizenship to the rest of the world.

Don’t like that opinion, too bad.
