Just for the record, I have some good pictures but you guys will have to imagine them. Some are really deep days, some are bluebird, some have huge backgrounds of amazing Cascade terrain, others are all about the details in the foreground like a tree branch. Or a cool cloud.
    Cheers!

If these pictures you speak of are as good as I’m imagining them to be, nice work!!

All this shredding, and no ability to even share the goods. Harrumph!

Conditions have been great btw. Curious to see how the next slate of storms develop through the week

Could use some dense spackle to cover the sharks...I've crustalized yet another pair of skis this past week.

Killer night skiing last night at Mission. Cold and grey yesterday kept the usually meager weekday crowd at bay so the groomers didn’t get beat up and a coating of dense new snow in the afternoon and early evening made it velvety everywhere.

Gorgeous morning up the Alpental Valley - just enough new snow to make the skiing really fun too.

Does anyone have a line on discount lift tickets for White Pass? A quick Google search shows nothing, but sometimes ya gotta ask the right people. A friend is coming to town and he has the Indy Pass. I have nothing, but my touring gear and motivation. We will try and meet in the middle with a combo of lift and gate access, but paying for a full priced ticket is so hard for me to do. I know, big problems. Thanks!

Mission Mags, seeking to trade for Buddy Tickets.

Hey all, divegirl and I will be around Mission Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of this week for our daughters U14 Super G speed camp then again Friday March 7 and Saturday March 8 for the actual Super G race.

Daughter has a pass so is all good but divegirl and I are seeking to ski on the cheap so if any of you all Premier pass holders have adult buddy vouchers left we would be happy to trade Stevens vouchers good any day the rest of this season and all of next season. We might tour a bit or just sit it out and work remote a day but specifically are looking to ride the lifts this Thursday the 20th and Friday March 7. And of course it would be awesome to make turns with a local (lift or backcountry from the base area).

Wednesday will be the best day of skiing this week, snow should start early morning and snow all day. Mission side country might be a little sketchy with new snow, wind and warming. The new snow will be coming on top of bottomless facets topped with several inches of blower and surface hoar.

I had a great weekend of facet surfing on steep north faces on the east side. Great fun before the warm up but my god that'll be scary with a layer of warm & heavy on top.

Yeah, ski touring outside the ski area last week was pretty great but I’m going to stay inbounds for a bit until I can see how this shakes out

So would going on a tour in the woods just up to Clara Lake be a bad idea? Never been out there before but it looks pretty low exposure on the topo.

There’s no real exposure to avalanche terrain unless you go above the lakes. It’s also a pretty unpleasant tour unless you go above the lakes. It’s a steep and winding trail that gets pretty packed in and icy by snowshoers and a few skiers. I live here and never tour up that way. The good skiing is up higher and to the south and north of the ski area.

Wednesday was a nice day at Mission but off piste yesterday, especially in hike to terrain, was pretty bleak. The wind had its way with the snow Wednesday night. It was hop and hope breakable crust. Very challenging.

Ditched work to ride Crystal on Wednesday before the warm up comes in. All upper mountain lifts except Forest Queen were on wind hold until about 11:30 when 6, Rex and Green Valley opened. Snow conditions were very elevation dependent but Campbell Basin and Powder Bowl were great if you didn't mind the very flat light. No lines at any lifts for the whole afternoon.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4dUIdkPA_7Q Hopefully I can still post YouTube links. This is a washed up drunkard mogul skier from the early seventies who found a new career singing disco songs.
