Toe Height off AFD new Look bindings. - Seems high?

Just got some new Look Pivot 15's and had them mounted recently. Looks like a large gap off the AFD plate? I have never had Look's and have not worked with them in past. Does this look right?

Center the dildo on the heel, it looks twisted to the far side, and then check the forward pressure if you know how...

Pivot fifteen with a clapped-out three buckle boot, that is ugly.

Do you have your front dins set correctly? If they are really low the toe piece will tilt up like that.

Clapped out? 1 year old. Sled skiing is hard on them. Best boots I have ever had, inbounds and out.

Jesus. Ya looks like you’re in the boot and pulling rearward really hard with a low set din. Definitely not right.

I just had pushed the boot in without stepping into it, thinking it is just off/misaligned at the heel in addition to low DIN. Will try properly tonight.

Take the boot out and back the forward pressure screws to the next knurled section, see if that helps

How far past the third (top) band of knurling can one safely go?
I think I have to re drill some heel holes, for a bigger BSL, but would prefer not to.

So I took another look last night and the metal arms for the dildo are actually squeezing the the rubber soles of the heel of the boot. I don't think this combo will work FFS. According to look and Roxa the grip walk numbers are compatible. Will take them back to the shop but as is it will destroy my boot and potentially my knee...

Doesn’t look like you backed off the fwd pressure at all still. Back them off and then see.

I’m confused, the shop had your boot when they mounted and “adjusted” it? The fuck?
Also, did they test the binding after the mount and did they have you fill out a long shop ticket prior to the mount and did you sign off on this mount?
Edit: Look bindings are finicky shit. I would have the shop switch them out for a Salomon Strive multi norm or grip walk. Strives are incredibly good skiing, really low stack. Plus they look really fucking cool.

^^ yes! I am heading there now. I did not check the mount until I got home, I know them well and the tech well. New skis too!

ya they just look adjusted wrong, ideally you should see a few more lines on the arms at those second notches. If they’re backed out a tad it’s going to be fine. No need to switch bindings.

Dunno what you guys are looking at but the forward pressure is set in the middle of the centre knurled ring - which is pretty much where it should be if the OP's boot was used to set the jig length. You can see the lower knurled ring clearly visible below so the forward pressure is certainly not high or "cranked".

Looking at the top pic it looks to me that the toe binding is fucked, like the upper toe is not sitting on the lower pedestal properly. The upper toe should be sitting horizontal whereas it looks like it's nose down by a lot therfore creating the massive gap between the toe wings and the AFD.

Yes, if they properly closed the jig on that boot it should be perfect at the second knurl. I’m not convinced they did. Not a lot of room to move on pivots. The new blue one has twice the adjustment of older models. But yeah.
