    Condition update. Soft opening this weekend so only the magic carpet spinning. Upside, allowed for some nice touring on the hill and a very civilized gathering of dogs and wine/beer/snack consuming humans at the top of the T. Beautiful day in the mountains, Shames'll be open next weekend with a top notch base for the hill, and a great bottom layer or 2 for the touring snowpack.

    I am thinking of doing a 8 Mile Cabin to Grizzly Den Cabin to Raven lake cabin traverse / tour and I am wondering a few things;

    - Is there good skiing around those parts?
    - Is it worth doing the 8 Mile Cabin or should I just skip that one?

    Anyone PG folk familiar with that neck of the woods? Thx in advance

    Hey HBM guys, what's going on there. If it doesn't get a couple of degrees colder here, I may pay you a visit.

    Ski Touring Options around Prince George?

    I have a travel buffer day late January in Prince George before heading to Deziako Lodge and I wanted to go for tour within an hour of the city, if conditions allow. Does anyone have recommendations for trailheads to start from or routes to check out? I'll do my best to check the MIN reports first, although there isn't much info for the area. Looking for around a 1000-1300m day of vert.

    OK Smitheranians, do I have to post up photos from your zone too?
    Had an amazing day at your fine hill last week (Wed), I think there may have been 30 other people on the hill. Anyway spun a bunch of laps with Bill and mrs GfT. Conditions were superb. My fav was cold smoke, wifies was on the other side of the ice fall (don't know the name. Also got to try out my new asym alpine free ride board without the terrifying off-ramp that is the Shames chair off load.

    Then we camped at Hankin and did a lap with Bill his buddy Jordan. Top 10%, and bottom 10% were pretty good. Rest was mank. Oh well, given that my previous 5 or 6 runs there were amazing dry pow, I shall not complain. Love that warming hut.

    Then back to Shames which along with some really nasty conditions has had some sleeper days that were very acceptable.

    Me and houndo.
    As challenging as it has been, I'm currently in the parking lot and it has puked 10cms in the last 2 hours and is below zero for the foreseeable future. Let the pow season begin in earnest. Please.

    hey guys, going to road trip up here from Leavenworth end of Feb and then go cat skiing with Skeena. Any tips for skiing between Cache Creek and Smithers? Also would anyone want to checkout Hankin and/or ski Hudson Bay with me? I have a decent amount of touring experience and willing to trade washington beta/beers to find some pow turns with people. AAIRE 1/ get 30-40 touring days a year out here.
