I get the frustration about random bar lowering and your not wrong but...that's on you.

Just don't have your melon in the path on the bar when its up. Just expect it. Or it coming down on your head...again.
Some people--especially skiers from Europe, I've found--bring the bar down immediately without warning, so I agree you really just need to be ready for it as soon as you sit down.

No. It was a packed lift line on opening day. I didn’t crowd the guy or antagonize him. He. He did it because he was inconsiderate and oblivious to lift line etiquette or basic common sense. But I still need to realize this in the moment and not expect morons to apologize or admit fault. Same goes for last years incident when I was bashed on the head by the lift bar coming down. Life happens, how I react to it is my decision.

Or dog shit under his door handles and send him air mail [emoji6]

    What would you do?

Either you were crowding him and he was claiming his space, or he was a sociopath.

Hard to imagine anyone dropping their board on my skis if he had someplace more comfortable otherwise. It’s not like your skis are more convenient for him.

If he was a sociopath, I probably would have cut off his head and fucked him down the throat in front of the lift line.

It’s the only way to be sure.

I'd stab his snowboard with my pole and call him an asshole

So did his snowboard just hit your ski tips or was it actually on your skis, like perpendicular to them and he was standing on your skis after ratcheting up?

I would give a “woah dude” upon board drop. If that gets met with anything other than a “my bad” or the like, I would tear into him just as you did.

I fucking hate premature barjackulation, no warning when it’s gonna come and then it’s all in your face when you’re just getting settled

No sane person is dropping their board and strapping in on your skis if they have enough room not to. He met your opening day aggro in kind.

I try to mentally put on my "there's gonna be stupid or aggro idiots today" armor on, particularly on opening days, pow weekends. part of that involves carrying a pocket full of funny stickers to put on the stupid or aggro idiots' boards when they aren't paying attention.

I miss you. Thank you for the perfect idea of wisdom and mischief I needed. Yep, I wasn’t thinking straight - needed my mindset to be expecting morons and a pocket full of dumb stickers would have been perfect.

Someone literally dropping their snowboard on me in the lift line was beyond, your tactic would have worked perfect for me. This is why I started the thread, so Thank you!

Or maybe the boarder could have just waited till the person in front of him moved forward, thus creating more space? I'm always vigilant about not hitting the skis or board of the person in front of me, but I guess I actually expect they aren't going to be carrying their gear in the lift line, so I can see not even thinking about being too close to someone carrying a snowboard.
