The last update i got was the 9th. After being evaced I talked to maintenance and they said they were still making, resourcing parts

As of the 24th, parts have been acquired from another resort's bone yard.

I'm actually hoping Heather isn't up and running for a couple more weeks if we get a good series of storms. I miss the "classic" Heather experience.

Friends don’t let friends traverse across the slope! Ski the fall line.

Maybe no heather chair slows down the slopes getting tracked out from descending traverses

I'm all in on a heather ghost town. I think the powder deprived masses are not going to be deterred at first.

$6 million for a broken tib-fib and two broken ribs seems a little excessive…

Daughter has a race next week (7th and 8th) at Meadows. Are there any discounts I should be aware of (REI, Costco, something else)?
Or if any mag has a way to get me (and the wife) a good discount, there is a Stevens voucher good through next season in it for you.

Name sounds about right for somebody who’s gonna sue.

The dude was hit by an employee on a snowmobile though…

    Those days are gone unfortunately

My freebies were gone with college kid home at xmas

It used to be that if you volunteered to be a gate judge or some such they’d hook you with a day pass voucher. Might be worth asking the team if visiting parents can do that (MHM hosting means MHM team parents are likely getting their requisite volunteer time in). Also, visiting teams were sometimes offered discounts for parents accompanying visiting racers. Not sure how that all happens anymore but seems worth checking with team organizers…

Not a bad Friday morning at the mountain with broken chairs.

Could still feel the hardpack underneath and it was puking the whole time.

On the heavier side of medium density.

No chain controls on Santiam today and temps are about 4 degrees warmer than forecasted. Only 2” overnight in the Schmoodoo lot. Friday was thick concrete, I only skied 4 runs (also had some schedule conflicts and am fighting a cold so I wanted to save some juice for today). It never rained at the Doo but parking lot temps were 34F all day until like 10 pm, the lot was a giant slurpee.

Not quite as forecasted but fun to have some fluff.
Elk skied a hair crusty but not as beat up as Moon Bowl — both fun tho. The runout was fine, I mean awful, not ready for crowds in Heather [emoji2]

I wonder where Meadows get their numbers… like when they report 6” it skis like 2” and vice versa for Bachelor or Cryster. High altitude math can be so confusing and misleading.

Ended up being way better than expected at the Doo. The winds slowed down overnight so all the south facing exposed stuff was able to accumulate overnight and buff out today, as opposed to Friday when it was sheer crust.
Still thick and heavy but very manageable and fun, especially given that I was on new-to-me Billy Goats that want to go Mach Schnell in high density pow. It was definitely busy here today - not so much in lines, but just a very full parking lot and lots of powderhounds out schralpin the usual spots.

Rime stopped at 10 am and it started snowing nice dendrites at 1115. Gonna be a great afternoon, and tomorrow should be solid for anyone sling anywhere!
