Storm may have fizzled but the skiing was surprisingly sendy. Ticked off a lot of lines I was not expecting to on a 4" day.

Only the second time in 30 seasons that I drove all the way up there, turned around and went home. Zoom only meant a lot of angry pirates.

I was gonna gripe about the liftlines at btown after GW went down but sounds like i should be grateful. Snow was really fun. Yesterday same. Good to have it sticking to things.

Got up with the kiddo from about 1:30 to 3:30. Lots of people had bailed by then. The skiing was marginal. Limited terrain. Some decent buff under little cloud but not great. Spring-like lower down. We had fun but it definitely wasn't yesterday.

I knew things were going to be wierd when they were still bombing west rus at eleven am. Skiing was real nice and creamy once they got the T open but the long lines and then rain to the top made us tuck tail at one ish

YKIK, nice work on those. Pic of the second one really tells me how low tide it is up there!

Yeah, normally the second stage on the double is a lot smaller.

Not hitting shit like that, but had 2 fun days so far despite the conditions. Did a ton of Little Cloud. Me and my buddy's 14 year old clocked 38,440 vert today. Got #1 and 2 on the app for chairlift rides, but SteffiE still kicked our asses on vert. Anyone know the story there?
Did 18,000+ vert yesterday despite the lines, so really getting my moneys worth on this pass so far. Peruvian and Mineral Basin opened today around noon. Hoping that holds for tomorrow. Lots of fun stuff to hit once(if) my legs rebound

She’s retired young and skis every day. She has a basecamp pass and gets to cut chair lines. She gets after it, is a strong skier. The Guru claims Chucky gets more vert than anyone, but Chucky doesn’t track.

I thought it was fake. I thought some lefties attach a cell phone to the chair just to mess with people.

There's an app that tracks your vertical at Snowbird? I imagine the participation rate on that is pretty low.

Last night was insane. I don't know what to think. I can't remember any season with such a drastic early Feb. thaw. Any flooding going on?

Didn’t see any flooding but the Jordan river is real full and rushing right now. 65° at 11pm last night in town when I went to bed WTF.

Looked over the preliminary avalanche report from the Cache/Rich snowmobiler fatality from yesterday and saw that the Diesel Brothers loaned a Black Hawk for the retrieval operation? Didn't know random people could have one laying around like that.

(the quote is fucked up because the board is fucked up)
He flew directly over my house on the way up there and it was loud as shit and he was pretty low. Sled rider had no beacon (it appears from brief report). Didn't stand a chance, and even if he did it looks like it was a pretty deep burial.

This will 100% will be made into a youtube video for their channel.

There's always been those "Warm before the storm" days where it would break 50 degrees, but I don't ever remember 3+ days in a row of 60+. Nor do I ever remember this little snowfall in the valley.

I was looking at the Alta and Solly snow plots, and we are at the same snow depth we had 4 weeks ago... sigh...
