What are the best fan goggles?

My son is seriously nearsighted and has to wear glasses.
He also sweats from his face profusely which cause glasses and goggle fogging.

So, what are the best goggles with a burly fan?

Honestly the best solution is a Smith ODS3 Insert with the largest compatible goggle like the I/O Mag XL or Skyline XL. I run hot and struggled for years with fogging even with fan goggles. The ODS insert with XL compatible goggles works the best for fog free skiing and being able to see.

I only tried the smiths, I've had 2 pair, IME they worked good when they worked but the wire to the switch/ battery pack would fuckup and they were toast

I would solve all kinds of problems and be awesume if they put a plug between the motor and the battery pack so it was easy to swap the pack

Eyeglass wearer here.

I used a variety of Smith fan goggles over the years, every single pair failed catastrophicly due to that one wire connection.

Currently using a non-fan OTG goggle from Smith called the Reason. They are huge inside, I think that’s the key to not fogging. Not the most stylish, but so what. Used them all last season and never fogged once. Probably not going back to fans since these seem to work fine.

yup ^^ all they needed to do is put a connector half way between the fan and the battery pack, the wire wouldnt have broke but if it did they could have sold us extra battery packs

I don't think Smith make the fan goggles any more

I'm hanging on to mine. The other thing I find makes a big difference is put them on as soon as I go into the cold. Letting my glasses get cold before putting the goggles on makes them far more likely to fog up.

I've used the Smith fan OTG style since the mid 90's. I still use the monashee which is an old otg, deep frame model. I think more air inside is better and distance from the face. Vented Airflow lenses too.

I have to search ebay for old stock but they pop up. For a while they made it in the fan version and I had about 6-8 pair. Prob still have the frames and lenses but the foam is usually manked or scratches.
Fans always worked well for me. Kind of a game changer bitd, really. I bet they still work. Never broke a wire but had one corrode the battery case. I preferred the on/off switch above/between the eyes. Could change it on the fly.

Buster, he can help himself by adjusting his clothing and goggles that vent somehow. A much lighter, breathable hat goes a long way.

yeah I've heard that ^^and now you don't see them on the website so instead of just selling a product that breaks real easy they quit making something people want .. who knows wtf
