JH I believe that 50% off with another mountain pass deal was just for their first few weekends in December

looks like the upslope machine is churnin’ up there right now, betting on a gong show this weekend with the storm hype, fingers crossed the BC comes back into play

I contacted Jay and they replied promptly that you still get a discount but not 50%.
Would be $111 so I didn't go but they reported 10".
I get 50% off as a Cannon employee but midweek non holiday but today and tomorrow are still holiday there.
I'll bebop around Cannon on the angry inch.

I heard the wind was sideways at Jay today and lifts down, touring is fun!

Out late which was perfect, missed the fresh manmade untracked but the pushed up piles were skiing great.
Couple days of change, still thin c

Surprisingly only two crazy wind blasts today, one on Bravo straight down the line for 60 seconds and another at soup-o-clock

Somewhat wind affected. Still better than not skiing. Scoured would be an understatement, either rocks or buffed drifts. Not complaining, honestly knock on wood not as bad as I had feared given the rain and temps.

Yesterday was a lot of fun at Plattekill. Woods Valley (see the upstate thread) really got hammered but we got a few inches the last couple of days also

Dust on crust but in the best possible way- like 5 inches of really light dust and the crust underneath wasn’t breaking through so…

East Coast Roll Call 66 24/25 always remember SKIING IS FUN

It was indeed cold out there this weekend, but the real issue was the crowds. Saturday was pure madness. Stateside lot full by 8:30am, and rumored 40 min lift lines bc they were only running the Bonnie and loading every other chair to start.

The lots on 242 were an absolute gong show; Big Jay lot had cars parked on the “shoulder” for probably 3/4 of a mile before and after the trailhead. Saw two crews of like 15 people out there, huge vibe killer; and in total I think I saw more people out there on Saturday than I have cumulatively in my 13 years of skiing that zone. At the risk of sounding like a crotchety old back-in-my-day kinda guy: the spot is certifiably blown.

The snow was still awesome tho, and we made the best of it. Deep, blower, fantastic conditions.

Yea I felt lucky to only be 100ft down the shoulder. Did a cpl Gilpins laps and saw like 10 groups which is about 9 more than I usually see on a Saturday but not that surprising with how crazy the resort was plus the recent snow. still lots of untouched expanses

yea I figured people would want to get into the BC with the resort running minimal lifts but the sheer numbers out there was what surprised me. Sunday on Gilpin was much better, only saw a few other people out there, and the conditions were stellar indeed. Another 2 feet by Friday? We’ll see how it goes this weekend
