I've had PF , I think from being a heel striker, I took a year off running and it went away
Getting bac at it I took my runners to the local running guru, I had got em from a big box store they were not old but he said these are old shit and showed me that there was almost no cush left in the sole said he could tell by the model # they were old so they must have sat in the warehouse for years
then he watched me on the tread mill in different shoes and evertualy had me in the most aggressive motion-control shoe he sold which was the Saucony Stabil grid,
a motion control shoe put me on the balls of my feet, it was impossible to heel strike, I think you wana land on the balls of your feet and the motion control made me do that, I don't know if motion control is a thing anymore or WTF
So make sure you got good shoes and a guru at a running store is worth paying list for those shoes, shoes from a big box fucked me up so no saving there IME
PF went away after about a year and never came back
