The wake of TGR .. in Kashmir??

    www.himalayanpowderdreams.com

Since part of Tangerine Dream is shot in Gulmarg, Kashmir, India we wanted to share our website with you. We've been over there a couple of seasons now trying to get things moving a little bit, trying to help publicise the resort in our homemade sort of way.... but hopefully it will all come together this winter, and the world's highest gondola will run. It's a mental place to spend a week or few..

We're just waiting to confirm the ski patrol, and then you might even think about a trip out. hopefully there's some decent information on the site for you if you are considering it, plenty of photos, and even a sunny video, nothing to rival Mika, Dash etc .. but we had a bit of sun , not sure if the crew had that privelidge...

    assalaam aliakum mere dost.... mazaaa!

"Well, you probably want to know about the gondola. It is working during the summer right now. However things are still up in the air about its use this winter for skiers and boarders due to safety concerns. The government is reportedly trying to get in some 'foreign experts' to patrol and open the slopes. Are you a qualified ski patroller? The Kashmiri government is looking for the best! Why not get in touch and find out more? There may be the experience of a lifetime waiting for you and the chance to help out a wonderful yet poor region of the world."

    The place sounds really interesting...

Kashmir= DINERO! and that dude hittin´ the hubbly bubbly is Yaseen, the owner of the Kashmir Alpine Ski Shop. He is also Dinero. Listen to his stories and drink tea with him. You won´t regret it.

Hey Lax... turn your camera about 90 degrees to the right and you will see some mind blowing terrain. What you see there is about 2% of the easy access gondy stuff (and that tower under the cornice is the one Farooq Shah told us was destroyed by an avalanche, which was completely untrue). I certainly hope the gondola stays open for winter operations....

Bring skins and extremo avy respect because nobody there (yet) has the skills to patrol or control or make the call regarding snowpack.

Geoff is a ski patroller and veteran traveller, I know he was planning to go to Manali with Redskea (she's also a patroller) last May, although I'm not sure what finally happened. You might send him (or her) a PM and see if he or they are interested.

de nada. Psst, I believe we met in February. I was with the group of ski journalists that was also at the Hotel Highlands Park.

edit: actually you can PM them both as they are different people.
