    You saw this, right? https://www.merriam-webster.com/dict...bluebird%20day

Sounds like you have some apologies to make on social media.

I mean, that’s what I thought bluebird meant but where I live is so cloudy and overcast during the winter that seeing blue sky is special. I think the OP would be even more appalled by what passes for a “powder day” here

    Username DOESN'T check out (SuperFun)

Bluebird day is any cloudless day with enough fresh snow to make it a blank canvas

Nice! I guess this thread is turning into a Bluebird Powder Day thread, not a Bluebird Day thread. Sounds fine.

    Storm day skiing is fun
    Sunny day skiing is fun
    Skiing is fun

@swimmy - that day is Orgasmic on the TBS Scale - snow is blowing up around your waist, making your wee-wee tingle

I agree to your point that skiing is just fun. And while I’m not a powder snob, I’d be lying if I didn’t acknowlege that there is something extra special about laying down fresh tracks under blue skies.

And being able to capture that moment and share with your buddies…it’s probably my favorite thing in the world.

    Agreed.
There’s also fun in sharing the mishaps that occur.
My buddy Dave was standing at the top of a nice ravine (on a sunny but not totally clear day) when it slumped and sent him OTB

I was pretty concerned at first, but when he said he wasn’t hurt I pulled out the iPhone and took some snaps. Then helped extricate him.

Capture the moment and share with friends!

66 fucking posts on this shit? Wolf Creek is open fuckers. Go ski.

And also, bluebird is the sky, powder is the ground, and they aren't dependent on each other. For fuck's sake. Or for fucks' sake? One of those, anyway...

In honor of our typical weather and resident fauna, we should start calling those normal days "Canada Jay days."
