I dunno - both of those kits are in really good condition - for the right person looking for a new used kit in our store those could be a good value

used rental kits are going for about the same price range at other stores locally

    https://tahoemountainsports.com/prod...o-ski-for-sale

there are a few other places locally to find used backcountry equipment

    https://www.tahoesportshub.com

the DPS retails for $1700 and that one is new for $1000 - you can’t afford to not buy that

    Do you remember 3/31/2012?

MapleLeafGillies and I tried skiing Heave in the morning and it was groomed snow that had gotten raincrusted and the water ice corduroy was absolutely impenetrable. Left after an hour, soaked in the hot tub, it started snowing at noonish and you called or texted while I was napping. We met at Luther around 3 pm and by 5 pm it was shin to knee deep. Your old RAV4 got bermed in by the plow.

Next day 4/1 MLG and I met up at Dang with Ottime for an all time morning skin lap, followed by my first straightline of Once inbounds.

Ottime’s pic of MLG on 4/1

3/31-4/1 sure has been lucky for us!

That's so funny A, I was just thinking about that pic. Even deeper and fluffier than I remembered. Have not been back in that zone for some time and really need to find the time to tic off a few laps now and again

Who else was out spinning laps on KT yesterday afternoon until last chair and how fun was that?!?

What a day of killer storm skiing as the wind buffed out the snow down the chair line and around the Fingers. Also, props to Palisades for running KT all day in some heavy winds.

Got last chair on KT at exactly 4:00 p.m. Winds were gusting to 50+ mph creating some viz issues at times.

But when wind momentarily dropped, there was some velvety snow. Super fun.

I don’t often ski the O.V. side, more of an A.M. skier but was glad I changed it up yesterday. Good times.

Even with the flat light and random whiteouts there were some guys flashing lines in the Fingers at full throttle. Very nice.

Finished the day with a beer at The Cham. The stoke vibe as evident when I walked up to the bar and the first words out of the barman’s mouth were “How good was that today!” followed by a fist bump. I agree.

I did have one area of feedback for the resort it’s this…Could you have gotten a plow to make a single pass thru the parking lot at the end of the day? WTF! At one point there must have been 20+ cars stuck and I never saw a plow. The lot was comedy with vehicles high centered, no chains and people using their skis to dig out. Crazy.

Tahoe '24/'25 - This Thread Shall Not Be Privatized!!

Got some twenty-twenty-three season quality snow in DC this morning. Regretting I could only do one lap.

    Can’t believe it’s April

DSR is gonna be the spot tomorrow.
They were closed yesterday and also today.
Last time I went there on a late season power day I was still getting untracked at 2pm.

In less serious news, some South Lake duder is mighty upset about all the steep skin tracks. https://the-high-route.com/straight-...are-too-steep/

In protest we went kick turn free, straight the F up today. It worked quite well…

I saw that post about skin tracks too. Honestly, I hate the steep af skin tracks but I get it and also think that duder whining about it deserves all the mocking possible

Also a death at Kirkwood on Saturday. Blunt force trauma in the chair 4 zone. I was wondering what happened when they paused the freeride contest for twenty minutes for a patrol emergency and it ended up being around 90+ minutes

You see any instabilities? Did the whole storm stay wet or did it get colder?

Very very good today. Started the day by lapping KT and a few red dogs. Then I went upper mtn, Waited for Gold Coast for about 1/2 hr. Then many good laps in Shirley to end the day. Fairly light snow for April made for lots on face shots.
Killer job opening terrain today. Tomorrow should be good if they put the same effort to opening things up.
