Broken Arrow at rope drop was the absolute goods yesterday. Best turns of the season. My apologies to the weekend folk for skiing it out by lunch time.

Yesterday was allllllll good. So much fun, cold, skiing. I have missed those days this year and I am really amped for next week.

This weekend I rest my shins and get some work done. Probably take some afternoon park laps.

    Have fun out there everyone!!!

Got sloppy seconds on Silverado yesterday. Gorgeous day so no complaints. Lapped Tram Bowl to Hanging Gardens and had a blast.

No idea on Broken Arrow chair but seems they only run it on holidays and big weekends. Otherwise, you can always do the 2 minute hike.

Fingers crossed upper mountain opens this week. It will be a slog if we only have lower mountain. The track record isn't good this year. Maybe I can load my team up and bring them to SB. Hahaha.

The forecast is still looking solid for Miracle March!

Silverado has been a pleasant surprise the past few weeks. I do not think it has run this much in years. Make Silverado Great Again!

Agreed. Even ripping the Gate 7 / LB groomer has been really fun this year. I even got in an Oregon T and a Smoothiest Smoothie. Keep it open!

Alpine has been skiing great recently. Chalk on north facing and corn most everywhere else. Slush bumps on Sherwood were super fun. Looking forward to a refresh and hoping for a season extension

Sherwood yesterday afternoon was some buttery smoothness getting out along the south face. Had so much fun ripping down those bumps

I was eyeing yesterday's fun slush bumps while skiing boilerplate at Sherwood this morning in a 40 mph wind.

I seem to have qualified for a Super Senior pass at SB for next season. Great deal. No guarantee I will actually survive to use the pass but they can bury it with me to use in the next life, along with my E104 Frees, and of course they will bury me with my ski boots on.

Congratulations Old Goat! Hey, none of us are guaranteed to use our next seasons pass, even if the odds are different.

Missed 80 closing by about 10 minutes tonight. Probably going to miss a country club epic pow day.

In 2010 I was hiking over to the Sugar Bowl from the top of Disney and this I came upon a group spreading ashes and I thought that would be a cool place for remeberance and to be spread for the after lift...I mean life.

My kid is waiting for the lifts to spin at OV. So his bullet points this week will include skiing pow because they have no money to do their job.

He's hearing a patroller got hurt in a slide. Sounds like he's ok, so thats good. Hats off once again to all our patrollers out there. [emoji120]

Hearing there was an inbounds slide at SB. Not sure where though or if anyone was caught

It was a sketchy day out there so far. KT Avi control work seriously injured an experienced patroller this morning. Another slide during control work slid Red Dog Face all of the way to the base. On the Alpine Meadows side, an inbounds slide occurred in the morning during control work on Arts Knob that slid all of the way to the mid station. In the afternoon, another one the far east end of South Face closed Sherwood 20 minutes after it opened. Patrollers were out doing a beacon search. I am not sure if there were any burials.</p>

    Red dog slide

    Started up at far east?

Everything looked like a perfect alignment. Snow didn't start until evening, was tapering off at sunrise, nice and cold, two feet, roads were clear, almost head of the line at B2B but heard about the patroller and knew it would be a while. They started loading it around 10 to go to Alpine, which soon opened Summit, so headed over and got a few great runs. Were on TLC when it was open to the top and headed for Sherwood, but they forced us off at mid and Sherwood was closed. Went back to summit and saw a patroller in a sled while in line -something that sucks to see. Y'all need a union to make sure you have enough say in how safety is done and that you are paid in correlation to the risk and skill your job involves. The bosses won't give it to you. You need to bargain collectively. Snow was deep and had layers. I ran into a tree because one ski sank at the wrong time. I'm ok. There's just an imprint on the tree now. I told my ski buddy to go ahead and have fun and I was going to take it safe back down to the base. They got back on the B2B about 10 cars ahead of me and were not allowed to ski down KT (patrol hold). When my car got there though, they were letting people ski again. All in all, a mixed day with some really good turns and a bunch of reminders why we need to look out for each other.

Yeah, just getting the report from my kid. Dicey day up there with lifts opening and closing. He went over to Alpine also and then hit KT when it opened. Tomorrow will be interesting with more snow and heavy winds forecasted.

And yeah, time for all patrollers to get paid A LOT more than what they do. And really that goes for all the ops people...All these corporate tools making 6-7 figures doing jackshit except for fn up the hill!

skipped the country club for the backcountry today because I don’t like lift lines or pow hype

expected sketchier conditions than I got

breaking trail to Castle Pass was a bit of work

couple Andesite laps on the way out - the skiing was really good

I didn't believe in reincarnation when I was your age either.

Red Dog slide petered out about 10 yards above the Big Red lift line ... which went almost all the way to the Funitel/B2B lines. Saw it come. Every very calm, except later after an extended wait the snowballs (where did they find the snow ?) started flying. Patrol skiing down Red Dog Face was a sight ... struggling to make turns in half a meter of Sierra powder.
