    What’s up with Coachella

    What’s up with Coachella?
Why is it that every three months or so my social media feed gets inundated with posts about people getting psyched up to go there and then some festival going on there.

Is this like some year round festival that occasionally gets broken up by people decamping to Burning Man?

maybe log off of social media?

coachella didn't sell out last year, hype may be at an all time low for it. It's a music festival that appeals to the 18-30 crowd.

'coachella' is now in the news because trump held a rally near the coachella site (not the actual polo grounds, but a nearby farm) and abandoned all his supporters waiting for busses back to their cars.

The thing that annoys me about it is so many people pronounce it like the first syllable is "coach" when it should be "co-a-chell-a." I know I'm fighting a losing battle with this one. Seems like most locals use the three syllable pronunciation.

I’m guilty of calling it coach.

Also, the Trump rally attracted a wacko (gee go figure) who rolled up with Sovereign Citizen fake plates, fake IDs, and told the cops asking him about it that he had loaded firearms in the trunk (loaded in the vehicle is a no-no in CA in general, at least they were out of arms’ reach). When questioned he claimed he ‘didn’t know CA firearms laws were different than NV ones’ and he was arrested. Naturally the county Sheriff, who is trying to advance himself for state/national political office and is already a Trumper, is trying to claim his deputies averted another assassination attempt. Calm down, the guy had a shotgun and a pistol…not exactly long range hardware. Also had hi-cap mags, which is another no-no for CA but frankly that’s not that surprising (CA legal mags are hard to find esp outside of CA)

Dude was a stupid sovereign nut bird, give it a rest and keep your shirt on.

That guy is out on $5k bail which pencils out to a $500 bond. I'd say that means he is not considered a threat.

    Exactly. Hardly an assassin.
