Elderly parents have medical needs making the increasingly common power outages in Bend a problem. So I’d like to get them a medium sized natural gas generator installed with an auto transfer switch.
Since it’s Bend, I know there will be some price gouging but mostly looking for someone reliable and competent.

No recs for you, but I spent a few months in Bend this summer and it's kind of startling how often the power goes out. What's going on out there?

From what I’ve heard, it’s a combo of conservative network management during high fire danger periods (similar to PG&E in Sierra foothills) and an infrastructure stretched thin by housing sprawl.

Look at non sponsored google results. Usually those guys aren't buying fake google reviews and you get more honest feed back.
Hence go with somebody with good reviews that aren't the people working there.
Try to get 3 numbers if you can and if one guy is crazy low, don't take it.
