I'm pretty sure the original issue was with the lever on the toes being too fragile and breaking when forced. If the binder is iced up or the mechanism is jacked, too much trying would crack them. Happened quick and they were making free fixes. Next year's came with tougher levers. 21-22 was the first year methinks.

Shipping confirm via fedex today as well.

thanks dood. just got a pair of pt 16 and some Bent 100 for my 50/50 setup. i would have prefered 180 length for this but they only had 188 left.

Thanks for the heads up on this! Gonna get a pair, just wondering if I should get the 16 or the 12. I'm going to mount these on skis I can travel with and do mostly lift serviced, bit still have the ability to tour. I've always been fine in my Vipec 12, so I assume the Duke Pt 12 would be fine too, and would like the slight weight saving of the 12, but would I be better off with the Griffon heel of the 16?

The 16 heel is far superior to the 12, but it is slightly heavier. I’d only run the 12 as a last resort if I was able to pick between the two.

12 works fine for me but I'm not heavy nor a hucker. Weight savings is pretty important in a hybrid binding that's quite heavy to begin with.

That said, I would like to hear anecdotes of heel failure on the 12 to change my mind.

I was on the fence but went with the 16 in the end. I run a DIN setting under 12 and wanted the weight savings, but these will be mostly lift served and the price difference was very little so I went with the bigger binding, especially since it's 6-16.
And I will look burlier on the lift when people look down at my bindings, which is very important hahaha.

Thanks guys! Think I'll try running the 12 based on the feedback. Would like to save that bit of weight, and it won't be a regular inbound ski. I'll only be using the setup while I'm away travelling with only 1 set of skis, so they shouldn't get too abused.

Worst case, I do have some Griffons on other skis, so I can always pilfer the heels from those if absolutely necessary. As long as I haven't died from using the Squire heel!

    Thanks again for the feedback!

Received my pairs today and both have the toe asterisk indicating they are not members of the troubled batch

I went back and looked it up. It was all the way back with the 2020/21 version... crazy that these have been around that long. Killer deal for folks who picked these up for sure

I got mine last week and just checked, and they don't have the asterix so I should probably reach out to Marker. The 12s I got off here do though.

An early run of the PT had an issue where the toe lock lever would snap off with minimal force. Marker fixed the issue, and put an asterisk next to the manufacturing code on the toe of the binding (can be found engraved in the side of the silver wing). I have a set without the asterisk that I purchased last year (and skied heavily) and am happy to report that I never have had an issue with the binding. My theory is that the “older” toes that came closely after the bad batch have an asterisk to indicate they do not have the faulty lever. Then at some point, they dropped the asterisk since the lever breaking is now a non-issue.l

Corbetts got back to me and said not all of the PTs are shipped with an asterisk, only the ones that were manufactured within the year of the recall.

Is that the asterisk? After the U48?

If anyone got a pair of Duke PT 16s and is willing to part with them, I am interested. At that price I was going to snag a pair for the hell of it, but didnt really need them. Now I do. Hit me up!

    I'm having some buyers remorse.

Would sell a pair of the 16s with 100mm brakes for the sale price of $190 USD shipped.

    These are SOLD.

If anyone else snagged a set and has had a change of heart, I am looking for an additional pair with 100mm brakes.
