PSA Duke PT 16 $190 USD out the door from Corbetts

$250 Canukistan pesos, best price I’ve seen on a pair of pt’s with the good heel. Both brake sizes in stock.

PT 12 in stock for even less $$$

Man as much as it can be beneficial to move product so it's not burning a hole, these things even with a large dealer wholesale discount are like $300 USD. Sometimes I wonder what kind of money is behind Corbetts and their deals...

Corbett's and a few others in Euroland never seem to have to play by the same rules other retailers do. Makes you wonder how they can pull it off for sure.

Edit: Isn't the 2023 version the one that the toes kept breaking? Are they even allowed to sell these anymore? lol

Thanks, saved me a Benjamin; hopefully sale goes through.

I had bought a pair for euro land but still in the return period. They seemed like a sick binding for their purpose and $300 with tax.

There definitely is some surplus product out there. The pt16 is an example of some of that old stock being heavily discounted

Things like MAP only apply in specific markets, and only exist if the manufacturer wants to pretend to protect the interests of its smaller retailers. Large enough retailers write their own rules.

I remember before the '08 crash, Nordica was selling boots by the ton for pennies on the dollar. Small retailers are the ones that are stuck being concerned about margins, big outfits are only concerned about volume.

I absolutely don’t need another set of bindings, but this is a great deal. They are a little difficult to step into. At this price there’s basically no reason to get another binding if you have any thoughts of using the ski in and out of bounds.

Nice PSA! Thanks! I just looked at these a few days ago on Corbetts and they were higher. They must have just dropped the price. I thought I got a good deal last year on PT12's for $300 CAD ($220USD). I don't need another pair, but price is too good not to add a PT16 to the hoard.

Are you talking tension (stiff like all Markers)? Or the boot not fully clicking in to the binding and needs fucking with? I've experienced the latter but hope it just needs adjusting.

Jesus I just paid more than that for a 2nd hand pair. Grabbed a set, shipping is crazy slow so wonder if they are waiting on an old order to come in?

I could check but I'm not at home and feeling lazy...

Anyone know if the mount pattern shares any holes with Jester?

And how wide will the 100mm brakes go?

The heel is rumored to be the same as the griffon, but I can’t confirm. I have a 100mm brake on a 105 waisted ski and they can squeak by something slightly wider, but not too much wider.

Duke PT heel holes are the same as the royal family heels (jester/griffon). Toe hole pattern is the same as the kingpin, but sits 46mm farther forward than the kingpin.

I've got the 100mm brakes over a 107 ski and they're tight but fully functional. Certainly more accommodating than a typical royal family brake at the same width.

Assuming you’re in the US, I believe Corbetts only does their US shipping once or twice a week, so if they are backed up on orders (which often happens with these big sales) it can take a couple weeks to get your stuff.

Great PSA btw. I almost bought a pair just for kicks but figured there are other mags out there who actually have a need for them

Never heard of the toe on the PT having issues. I do know the Shift and Kingpin toes broke in the past.

Duke 12 toes definitely had an issue with breakage. Unsure about the 16s

16s did as well. IIRC every one we sold out of the original shipment broke.

Any advice on 100 or 125 brakes for a revolt 114?? Didn’t realize they had such a big gap. Hate brakes getting caught in my torn up pants so I usually air a few mm on the too narrow side but not sure what to do here. I know most markers stow in pretty nicely so maybe 125 will be ok?
