Figure it would be like pulling baby calves out of a cow's vagina with a bunch of East Coast tick harvesting a hairy back.

The sheer amount of sweat I put into my bed during my first bout of Covid was insane. A full week of it. Then shivers all night. Those flashbacks are another reason I was inquiring about the new info out there. That fucking sucked hard. Probably the sickest I’ve ever been.

You prefer your mystery drug cocktail from a deal you just met because he didn't seem sketchy over something that has some level of peer reviewed science behind it?

Maybe I need to sit down and shut up. A good friend of mine just lost his son over the weekend due to a suspected drug OD. Probably fent. Another good friend just found out her brother has been on H for the last 7 years and is desperate for help. A lot of folks act all high and mighty when it comes to vax purity, and then go put whatever lands in their hand at the party into their system no questions asked.

The line of questioning and hand wringing behind 'is the vax effective, for how long, do I really need it, is it just hotdog water' is idiotic if you're not asking 'is my weed cut with fent/pcp, what is my microdose really made of, what the hell is kratom actually'. Yeah, the vax isn't 100% perfect, but it's far from the worst think any of us have ever willingly done to ourselves.
Great analogy, I totally remember all the mandates by private corporations that if you didn't eat (that's how you do it right) the kratom, and smoke the black market pot, and microdose at least freaking something, you're getting fired, but hey, they'll use the excuse they're just following the cdc and who recommendations, that they'll later admit just came from nowhere but maybe bill gates.

Fent is a real issue man, sorry for the loss, but i don't see how it has anything to do with the vax. they are very different issues. Fent is the biggest killer of americans thse days. Seems like it should be priority one but politicians don't talk about it or seem to want to do much. Wonder why. Us banks getting caught laundering cartel money and getting a slap on the wrist has something to do with it though.

None of which is justification for hey lets just blindly trust some different corporations cus in our youth we may have engaged in other high risk behaviors. I also think people actively using hard drugs are probably not really thinking that hard one way or the other about the vax. I know lots of people who didn't get it who aren't drug users. Maybe I'm just old fashioned, but hey, drugs are bad mmkay seems tobe the obvious conclusion from your post but you seem to do everything possible to avoid that conclusion nd instead say its what, anti vaxxers?

I'm not trying to be a dick, or kick you when you're down, but this division seems so contrived, when the obvious solutions to virtually all the problems americans face today is if we had some unity, resisted division, we could demand some accountability ad change. There are a lot of controversial issues these days, they're the ones the media bludgeons us with constantly, but there are tons of things we can probably all agree on, but corrupt assholes somewhere dont' want us to. Fent, qualified immunity, cartel money laundered through us banks, and for profit prisons, are a few that a tied together and universally agreed on.

I don't have a source of the top of my head, but I have seen some study that seemed to support long covid actually being more likely from a minimal or asymptomatic response. Regardless, there is no carrier, you've had it, and it can affect you, even if it wasn't initial symptoms, who know how this now almost surely lab made thing actually works.

Just dear diary storytime for funsies, when i got covid i was sleeping in my car on a road trip in the winter. Pretty well prepared for overnight camping down to well below zero under normal circumstances when I wasn't sweating buckets, but with covid the sweat to shiver cycle became just fucking brutal when it was like 10 degrees outside.

Topol seems to summarize the reason with some links to clinical(?) rationale, “Our best defense against Long Covid is not to get Covid. Our second best known defense is to be vaccinated. The better the vaccine, the less Long Covid risk.” https://erictopol.substack.com/p/the...le-covid-virus
Topol wants high-risk individuals to receive biannual boosters to match the biannual surges, and thinks CDC/FDA should move faster to get better booster matches as the variants change. He'd also like to see more US efforts on nasal vaccines, and pan-corona vaccines, both of which show promise. India has approved a nasal vaccine that blocks spread (block shown in hamsters).

That nasal vaccine sounds promising if it blocks spread in humans too.

Just fuck off with this. Those vaccines were approved. Yes, the process may have been truncated, but to act like it's in any way comparable to street drugs is silly. The mandates were intended to curb a public health catastrophe that has killed over one million Americans so far.

I've heard that one of the side effects of long covid is that you make multiple posts in a row.

People have been working on a nasal vaccine since the pandemic started. There are a couple of candidates in early trials. The India vaccine seems to work well as far as producing immunity markers. The trial I found didn't have enough people to show how well it actually prevents infection, compared to inected vaccine. At this point it might be hard to enroll enough people to do a good trial.

When the Savin (oral polio) vaccine came out all of us who had already had the Salk injected vaccine got the Sabin. The injected is better at preventing paralytic polio; the oral is better at preventing transmission--which is why they're using it in Gaza.

Day 3 of a miserable head cold with some body aches, sore throat, and the occasional loose movements. Still testing negative for the 'rona. I wonder if there is some segment of the population that can get COVID-19 and not test positive, as I have never tested positive. Is it even possible to have it and not shed it??? Or I just suck at testing. I am very thorough with the instructions.

Or you just have any number of routine seasonal viruses circulating.

In patients presenting to ED or urgent care anecdotally I’d say our positivity rate is a fair bit less than 50%

I didn't test positive the first couple days of feeling like crap, and then the third day the test strip lit up.

Seem to be feeling better today. Heal up mang.

I was sick back in early July, tested negative the one time I have tested. Been dealing with "long" something since then, still have a cough I can't kick and general lowish energy. Doc said it might have been covid and might have been cold, he's seeing a lot of these lingering issues regardless of virus.

    Still sucks.

Thanks! You too, heal up! Tests on day one and three both negative. The test instructions say I don't have to test on day five after two negatives. I'm tempted to waste a test on day five anyway, for giggles. You'll be happy to know one symptom is that I don't feel like posting as much as I usually do.

No reason not to use up the tests. Free ones are back on the menu soon.

I regret not getting a booster last season. Got hit with my first (known) case of the 'rona in february and it fucked up my switzerland ski trip.

Was really just laziness...I opted not to get flu+booster at the same time because it was uncomfortable the last go around, so I got flu, said I'd come back for covid...and just never did it. I'm pretty confident i would have either avoided infection or my symptoms would have been mild enough to enjoy the trip a lot more.

Also, one of my wife's friends had a really bad case of long-covid that was a bitch to get rid of, impacted his career, and will likely have lifelong effects...shit's real.
And for the "it's just the flu" crowd...the flu sucks and it is still like one of the top 10 killers in the US (mostly flu-derived pneumonia).

Musinex, Flonase spray, tons of water and spicy chicken dishes. Note that I didn't have any peeing out of my ass, though.

I'm also a believer in sunshine when I'm sick. I don't know why, but it definitely (albeit temporarily) makes me feel better.
