I drive by it every day. No cars hardly ever. The building is super sweet and chic. And void of bustle.

It's amazing what you can spend and how you can live with other people's money.

I hope this is the last hurrah for Bode and Andy, but if history is any guide there will be another business venture built on in investor capital in the not too distant future. As Barnum once said, there is a sucker born every minute.

A little bird just told me they have paid for all their skis, are not making payroll, but have a plan. Sounds solid

Yeah. I mean-- probably. All of you posters' assumptions that we all (globally) follow Bode's contracts is kind of absurd.

Help a brother out-- just take your irate frustration and type up a simple presentation that schools idiots like me.

Otherwise, this entire thread reads: "We don't like them. And, you're an idiot for not understanding why."

I mean-- you're not wrong. But you're not convincing, either.

And I'm completely willing to accept that this conversation is amongst you all, and the rest of us aren't really privy to being in the room.

    Bruh, chill TF out!

When Bode took over Bomber, the skis were built in a factory I imported from. Short version, Bode / Bomber cut every corner whilst claiming to be top shelf / revolutionary. It backfired when they were harvesting rejected cores / materials from other companies to keep costs down.

Enter Peak - same playbook. Claim to be revolutionary whilst just drilling a hole in some pre- existing Elans to contain cost.

Gaijan, did you not read all those failed ventures I listed where Bode pimps hid name hard, it fails, and on to the next one?

Between Bomber and Peak was Crosson skis that lasted about a year.

Watch this interview Gaijan. The brother is completely full of shit. Oh, and by the way if you do watch this and you wonder why he goes on a long tangent about Skieo it's because he started that joke too. Course he doesn't mentions he owns it as he pumps that up. Skieo another joke where Bode convinced people to invest in and then folds while Bode collects on it. Wake the fuck up, bro. We can't spell this out any clearer. Watch this joke of an interview that took place December 2020. If this doesn't get you over the line about what we are talking about there is no hope for you.

Sorry guys. I just was never following the failed startups. Not trying to be a dick about it. I just never gave a shit.

I was bummed to learn a hero of mine is purposely crashing startups.

    My bad.

He’s a hell of an athlete & changed the game. I still love him for the interview where he disclosed that he refuses to re-use socks- ever!

I find the lack of 333 references disturbing.

JE from Blister did a pretty good job pressing Bode on that ridiculous Keyhole Teknology(tm) on the gear30 podcast. Kept it friendly and let Bode talk his way in to the role of grifter snake oil salesman. I know other brands market ridiculous "Technologies" as well, but Bode's explanation of the keyhole tech sounded so dumb and unbelievable, and you could tell he didn't really believe in it either.

All that aside, I guess the product was still decent if not unique, because reviews seemed generally positive.

I've played in the venture capital world. I raised a solid 20mil after the seed-capitalists bought 4 other resorts for 10m. They brought me in to build a commercial.

I could expand on that story forever... but what we're talking about here is making me irate.

So, this guy is just starting fake ski companies via angel/seed investors and then just walking away?

Now that you've all explained it all, I get it. He's securing seed-capital and then just closing shop.

    I apologize. I get it.

He's playing the legal contracts to legally fail... and then repeat that process with the next round of angel investors.

And this is why you're all calling him a piece of shit. Sorry it took me a moment, but now I get it.

He's mastered the pitch and the exit without ever committing.

    Sorry, I wasn't listening before.

    Gaijin,

Nah, he doesn't purposely tank his startups. Rather he is full of shit, and will do anything to make a buck, and is more akin to a snakeoil salesman.

Nothing he is involved in business wise survives, and he has done many. Iriponsnow, the academy he was involved in with that other shitbag Andy Wirth never even got off the ground. It failed before it even started.

They are shameless snakeoil peddlers that first and foremost are motivated by lining their pockets rather than actually creating anything long-lasting.

Technically they don't do anything illegal although I believe they have shamelessly lined their pockets on the back of others people money who they somehow convince to do business and invest in them.

As I said, there is a sucker born every minute but hopefully Peak is the last hurrah for both of these shitbags.

Wasn’t that academy going to be at Granby Ranch?

Why yes it was. None other than a Bode Miller and Andy Wirth production. And when they canceled it they said it was only a matter of time when they would try another location.

These two grifters decided it was easier to raise money and line their pockets by forming Peak skis I guess.

What is your personal experience with Bode or any of his businesses? This sounds pissy and personal.

So Bode leverages his racing history to attract investors who all willingly try to capitalize on it. Who fucking cares! Did you invest in one of these companies and now feel harmed?

A whole bunch of dentists on Peak skis seem happy.
