    Hah
Said it decades ago. Four years college four years med school at least three training. Debt and loans.
And you end up being a business owner. Fuck that shit. But thanks for taking care of us.

Traditional Medicine Sucks. - Looking for Physician partner in Ski Town, DPC model

This is my Doctor, and she’s amazing, and the monthly cost is totally worth it.

I don’t understand all the hate here. Why would you not want an advocate for your health in a system that’s otherwise setup to be a conveyor belt for extraction of max $$$ from you by increasingly consolidated healthcare corporations?

She’s super mindful of costs, and helps direct you to various specialists, labs, etc that are the lowest cost. And has helped us figure out if cash or insurance co-pay is the best route for that.

Any visits are free, and quick. It’s not the 3 hour “take a number”, get seen by a CNA, then a Nurse, then finally a Doctor who doesn’t remember you for 5 mins.

As a Doctor, why would you not want to have a small enough patient load that you can actually spend time with people and help them get healthy?

Dr. Klauke has helped me dig in to various health issues that aren’t life altering but affect quality of life. She was clear where her knowledge and expertise ended, and then got me over to good specialists to help figure things out.

My wife cut her finger, and was able to see Dr Klauke within 15 mins for a couple quick stitches, and all after care. This was all covered under our membership fee.

I once got a fish hook lodged in my finger badly on a weekend while out camping in a remote area. I did have cell service. Dr Klauke was busy, but answered the phone, walked me through a couple tricks for removal, and when I couldn’t get it out (it was a big fat barbed treble hook), referred me to the best option for urgent care on a Sunday afternoon.

I hurt my back skiing, and Dr Klauke was able to help me navigate referrals for PT and Massage with my insurance.

I hurt my shoulder mountain biking and again, she helped me get referrals for that as well.

I guess I fit the profile of active person who has lots of minor injuries, and also is working on improving and monitoring my health. Not any weird drug cocktails (and to be clear, she has recommended AGAINST that) but I get bloodwork every 6mo as I’m working on improving my health, and I am also seeing a separate men’s health doc for HRT. She’s been great to help with bloodwork, I can schedule an appointment with her office for labs at no additional cost beyond the test costs. I’m then able to talk through labs with her plus my other doc.

Best doctor I’ve had… and I’m not getting paid to say that.

And she has plenty of staff from my observation that cover admin, plus some nurses and CNA. When I “call her phone” or “text her” depending on office hours, sometimes it gets routed to someone in the office who helps discern if it’s requiring a call back from Dr. Klauke, or if a nurse can call back, or if it warrants an in person appointment. Sometimes Dr Klauke answers but it depends on the situation and if she’s busy with a patient or life. It doesn’t seem like she’s a slave to the phone.

Finally, on Sandpoint… I’m not really sure what to say, other than agreeing that it sucks and you definitely wouldn’t want to live here.

Haha I’ll show you the hook. The emergency care doc (burly ex-SF medic turned MD) said it was the deepest fish hook hooking he had seen. I hooked myself while putting the rod in a holder when the boat hit a sudden wake and I fell forward, and basically set the hook super deep in the finger with almost all my bodyweight, and it wasn’t a curved hook, more of a straight style treble. I tried for over an hour to get it out.

Said burly MD had to use almost all his strength to push it through. He laughed when I asked if he thought I could have gotten it out using the fishing line trick.

Glad I was numbed up for that.

Don’t post your medical shit if you don’t want people to ask questions. Are you transitioning or is this for your gynecomastia?

And Funky is right don’t be a pussy. Remember when I had you drive me to the ER and drop me off because I refused narcotics for a four part clavicle fracture and didn’t want to ride the ambulance?

It’s not a binary choice, I’m asking questions. Woodrow is a grown man now.

You’ve heard my beef with Woody, not the best example of your generation

Damn dude, sounds like a nasty one. I was just kidding. Hooks can be nasty and cause major damage.
