Edmonton lost their cool. No love lost between these teams. If Edmonton tries to play this way they are toast.

No doubt. Florida was loving every second of that.

What basinbeater said. Although Florida is a lot better at getting away with shit than Oilers. Kane is a liability.

Bennett reminds me of Howe--top scorer with a serious mean streak. Not too many of those around any more--the aces mostly are treated with kid gloves.

put up or shut up night for the oilers. imo, its shut up; oilers have yet to show they can run away with a game like florida has, another year of the cup getting swamp ass.

Fortunately they only need to be up by one when the game ends. I think they’re going to have it together tonight. Game three was embarrassing.

Skinner is going to have a short hook tonight.

Marchand is this generations Linseman. A rat by any other name. That little pesky chippy bastard killed my dear Flames on numerous occasions, and sunk the Canuckleheads pretty much every post season. He is the guy you hate. But want him on your team. But there is more salt in the wound. Why Calgary traded Tkatchuk and Bennet is totally beyond me. Both showed their mettle in the final. A little humble brag that is related to all of this. When I lived in cowtown from 2013 to 2018 I used to get free Flames tickets from suppliers. Damn good seats (or boxes occasionally). Anyway a couple of times I got to sit beside Colin Patterson (a former Cup Winner with Calgary) who worked at the time for one of our suppliers. In Bennets rookie year Colin said that that kid is going to be one of the best players in the league one day. Damned if he did not pick a Conn Smythe winner 10 odd years ago.

Flames completely mismanaged Bennett's development. He never got opportunities in roles that would have helped him succeed. Then they traded him for a second. Tkachuk told them he wouldn't re-sign. Not sure if it was money or also heard that he wanted to be captain and they wouldn't promise it. Treliving fucked the team over. Not necessarily in trading him, but immediately signing Huberdeau and Kadri to huge contracts, and selling Monahan to the habs for a 1st rounder. They'll be stuck in mediocrity for the next decade.

evdog, that is some pretty damn good insight there. I do not disagree with anything you said and feel better informed. It certainly continues to be not easy being a Flames fan. I have the double horse hair shirt in that I also root for the Sask Riders.

Well, I hope the FL team unravels a bit this off-season. They're too damn good.
