Dubs grind out a win against Bos, next up - Cavs on Friyay.

I might get the league pass just for that game.

No, Cavs vs Celtics isn't until the 19th. :P

Klay is my guy so I hate to say this, but it’s obvious his attitude and frustration was dragging down the team the last year or so.

Meanwhile Buddy is feasting off of all the space created by Steph and he’s even playing decent defense like he’s been re-energized. He’ll never be a good defender but as long as he’s not a black hole on that end there are plenty of other good defenders on the roster to support him. Warriors currently have the second best defensive rating behind only OKC. On that note, OKC might be the best defensive team we’ve seen since the early 2000 Pistons.

2024-2025 NBA thread: who wants to buy a Duck Boat?!?!

I like Jayson Tatum. I’m not crapping on him, but if you’ll watch this play, at around the eight second mark, Tatum just starts daydreaming and walking around. I think this is why he didn’t get a lot of playing time in the Olympics. (Also I think Kerr may start to pick on him, knowing this.)

The sixers are a mess and I'm not sure its really Nick Nurse's fault.... Embiid hasn't stepped foot on the court this season and has already gotten the sixers a $100K fine and a 3 game suspension for an altercation with a reporter. They added an all-star forward who it will take a minute to develop chemistry with the rest of the team, who also just started playing this season. And I just heard Maxey is out for a couple of weeks with a hamstring injury. Total mess. The process could be cursed.

Strong contenders for the NBA Cup! I kid

I'm glad to see the Cavs start to mesh like all the analysts thought it would when Donovan was first traded there. Mobley and Allen seem to have figured it out and Garland looks like he did prior to the trade. The east looks weak at the moment so hopefully the Cavs can give the Celtics a run for their money.

    Raise that mid-season banner!!!

LOL. Yeah, its really nice to see the group come together like everyone hoped a year or so ago. Fans forget that Darius was out with his jaw wired shut for half the season last year with every idiot asking "why isn't he playing up to form when he came back; must be jealous that Donovan is getting the ball all the time"?

Then Donovan commits to Cleveland, posts some love for Allen (subject of trade rumors last year too), Darius and Mobley and gives deferential interviews after each game and all of a sudden they caught the power-of-friendship vibes that took the next door neighbor Guardians to the American League Championship. I'm loving it.

Like old times, Buddy! Been saying they’re on the rise for a bit and now it looks like they have a good shot in the East.

Have fun with tonight’s game. Dubs don’t usually do well against as much size as Cavs have but let’s see what happens!

We already knew the West was going to be stacked, but now with the Suns and Warriors looking legit, it's absolutely crazy. Reminds me of 2008 when the Warriors won 48 games and missed the playoffs. We're going to have teams with 50+ wins stuck in play-in games.

Did anyone catch the Denver - OKC game a few nights ago? OKC undefeated at that point, being the first team ever to win their first 7 games by double digits. Denver missing Murray and Gordon, replacing them in the starting lineup with Westbrook and Peyton Watson. Denver is down 14 in the second half, but comes back to win behind 22/20/16 from Jokic. Peyton Watson misses two free throws that would have sealed the win, then skies to block SGA's game tying attempt at the buzzer.

If you don't watch Denver play, you should make a point to do so sometime just for Jokic. He's at the level of few players I've ever watched. Chet is a good defender and the refs let him just drape himself on Jokic, but the latter is so good at basically every part of the game that it didn't matter. Watson and Westbrook looked basically unplayable as 2nd unit players to start the season, but when Murray/Gordon got hurt and they now were playing beside Jokic, they're suddenly functional basketball players. That's not all him, but he seems to make the game so much easier for his teammates. Just amazing to watch as a basketball fan.

Yup. And Braun is legit. Like legit legit.

Question is now about Westbrook Strauther and Watson. If two of those play very well, Denver could be a top 4 NBA team. If not, well, then...

I guess it's also about what Murray looks like in two months.

That was a hell of an entertaining victory for the nuggets faithful since they were down the first 3 quarters and still managed to pull it back from the brink. I'm a p-wat fan for sure. Love his game.
Brandine: Now Cletus, if I catch you with pig lipstick on your collar one more time you ain't gonna be allowed to sleep in the barn no more!
    Cletus: Duly noted.

Yep, Braun has looked great. But I wasn't really that worried about him. I thought he would be fine replacing KCP's minutes having watched him last year. The question is if the guys you mention can replace Braun's as effectively. The first few games it looked like they would not, but in the last couple they've looked better. It's partially that they're playing more with Jokic, but I hope it builds up their confidence/helps them get a rhythm overall.

My goodness, maybe the dubs can blame it on a come-down after beating Boston.

Cleveland is just cooking right now, as they have been all season so far. No need to overthink it.

I was pretty high on Cleveland two years ago but there was always some kind of setback. Now that their young core has more experience under their belt and things are coming together, watch out. That is an absolutely stacked roster with a ton of versatility.
