    I'd be willing to --
    A) Send you just the brakes (~75mm)
    B) Send you the entire binding. (Or maybe just the heal piece because pivot-dorks are pivot-dorks and we like to switch up our color-ways.)

    But I'd need a return... I need 115 brakes.

An equal swap where we both pay our own shipping would be cool for me. I'm in Japan.
I don't have what you need but thanks for the offer. It's summer and I'm not really shopping for ski gear. Too busy biking and building shit. I live close to Irip and I've given him a bunch of racing skis so maybe he has something that I can use or I'll just break down and buy new.

If nobody takes you up on your offer for scientific reasons, I'd jump on these. I've been looking for a set of these for some time.

On that note— anyone want these plates? I plan on keeping the bindings but the plates are yours.

I believe that is the same plate as mine. Still available for the pursuit of knowledge.

I've got a couple pairs of Sally S914's, one with plates, both with 75mm brakes in good shape if anyone wants them for this mission. $40, shipped, to you.

Those plates are in a box to be shipped to a maggot who PM'd me. Can't post pics via PM... so I may post here later if need be. Sorry to the readers for the thread hijack if it comes to that.

Regardless, those plates are kinda dope. A lot of hardware, but... I get it.

    Back to your regular programming.

Are you skinny ski dorks gonna make this happen? Again, I'm only here for the show. I might consider an RC85 next year if this year makes me crave a hard snow ski again.

Oh... and a slight change to the game. Tea. Not sake. Sorry. I'll ship anyone tea from my local in Japan if they preorder this ski. I've come to the conclusion that shipping you dorks a bunch of bottles of sake is both too expensive and counter-progressive to our modern healthy lifestyles.

So, you'll get a rad batch of Japanese tea, and you'll like it.

Wait ..... Heritage dorky hard core carvers AND tea?!?!?
Some of us dorks have already committed; what's a good Japanese tea comparable to a premium Darjeeling first flush?

Yo gaijin, if you’re down to ship tea to the US I would be very interested.

What is the typical harvest date and processing times in Japan? I generally drink Chinese black (pu’er), yellow, and white but have been wanting to try Japanese teas for a while.

Maybe we should take this to the PR tea thread.

Several seasons ago I designed a ski for (Insert TGR Brand here that shall remain nameless....) and was laughed at. The owner of the company told me that I would ruin his cred if he produced a skinny ski. I offered em 60K to produce a run with the stipulation that I own the mold and product. They could rent the mold from me in the future if the decided to press more. They declined, added 1-2mm to the build & sold out of the ski early in the season. Then I connected with Cyrus from Renoun and got the opportunity to redeisign the Atlas 80 - basic premise was a carvy ski w/ a freeride tip that would not deflect at speed once the piste was cut up. It skis well & delivered as designed - Yet Renoun wants to keep 80mm as the minimum width for now & has experienced a change of ownership. I'm currently doing some stuff with Original Plus - these are premium build Augment / RBVD pedigree skis that do a fantastic railing a la Head / Volkl, yet demand a committed pilot and have a highly prescribed radius.

Enter testing for the rc85, the tail is perfect for hi speed releases & slashes, the shape is refined thanks to MO & it rips! It's just a hair too wide for the technical skiing. Ergo the rc70. I see this ski as the low tide solution & at the same time optimized for being in a crossover boot. I don't really feel like dragging my plug boots out just to tear up groomers. I could see this ski going for pivoty stuff w. an AAAtack or Pivot binding or tossing a plate / lifter for higher edge angles. HL also has the ability to offer production runs of ~10 or so.

Additionally, I'm routinely coaching FIS kids & adults, so I'd like to have HL be showcased when I'm work'n. Think of it as the most un Austrian/Swiss technical ski you can buy!!
Hey irip, where is this project at? If you are close to getting the minimums, but need another, depending on my cost, I might be in.

    Hi,
Thanks for reaching out- it’s not dead, it’s morphing somewhat. After a number of conversations with industry pros and skiers that I really dig & respect their style plus a number of area employees, Marshal and I come to the notion that we really want a ski that’s fun to take out low tide and also makes the end user better. As my bro (an athletic patroller) notes - “so many ppl are so close to hi level skiing, but fall short over & over….” One of my mates has become Joe Dunn aka SkiDadTV on YT. All of us have kinda agreed that the ripper SL ski that puts everyone on their heels is not the way to go…. Thinking now of a quasi rc85 shape in a not 66-70mm, but more 73 waist to slow the transition & still use that great rc shape to sting the turn. All this being said- we need to get the production rc85 on snow & into the hands of the maggots to verify our changes. So not expecting to see a rc70(3) in the fall. Hope this helps & thanks for the stoke!!!

Thanks for the update. I like(d) the idea of a narrower, 68mm'ish, ski, as I was planning on using it for a beer league ski as well as carving during low tide. However, I very much understand the reasoning for bumping it up to 73mm.

Still sounds like a great ski, and I look forward to learning more, and hopefully getting on a pair.

I already picked up plates and bindings just for this ski! Please keep me in the loop.

We’ll be hoping to get ya on a pair as well. I think that you’ll find that a lil wider will only help set up the next turn.

All seriousness, we’re trying to build a ski that will help folks level up & learn the joy of pulling some G’s for the first time or for the best time!
