Ebay and Amzn have some chinese pedals which are SPD on one side, flats on the other. I have a buddy who uses them and likes them, and he's way better than I am.

Shimano also makes those and while they work they are pretty heavy, they are especialy handy for the timid new SPD user but once they got it figured they are always in the SPD side and don't use the flat side

If you order them, please come back and provide a review. That spindle looks proud of the body but maybe the pins are long enough (I prefer a concave pedal).

Are you looking for shoes or pedals? Your post looked like you wanted a shoe that can utilize both types of pedals.

Do you presently switch shoes for the descent? Or you ride a shoe with cleats up and then flip over to the flat side of the pedal for the downhill?

Both, sorry. Right now I ride a 5.10 on flats and something else with cleats on SPDs. Curious if anybody has experience running the same shoe on both sides of a hybrid pedal.

I just can't see that working; a cleat mixing with pins seems problematic. Maybe look into one of those magnetic setups?
