Amazing guitarist, amazing songwriter. Not a day passes that I don't listen to the Allman Brothers.

One of the greats, RIP.

Aw shit.
The amount of musical talent to come out of the Allman Brothers is just incredible. Next time I pass through Macon, I'll tip one back in Betts' honor.
I still call it The Jake.
RIP. Dickey. Created some of the happiest, most joyful blues ever played.
Awww shit, another great one gone. He had his demons as most artists do. My sister had him on flights when she was with Delta, said he was a polite soft spoken gentleman.
Thanks for the notes Dickey.
I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.

I always liked his sound, btw he was 80 which is not a bad run in the rock star business, all the old rockers are getting to that age
Lee Lau - xxx-er is the laziest Asian canuck I know
I'm bummed. The end of an era. Good thing is that his son will carry the torch. RIP Brother.

Glad I got to see him wail @ Red Rocks back in the 90s & stoked I saw his son a few weeks back here @ the Cap.
has definitely been a big part of the soundtrack of my life.
Hope him and Duane are playing 20 minute jams together in Valhalla
Saw Betts band a couple times and had a chance to chat with him at both shows. Love that guys music.

Fkna. Good run for Dickey. His solo stuff will forever be under appreciated. Shred in peace. Just Jaimoe and Leavell left now.
swing your fucking sword.
Today, I went from a stressful and jaw clenching work day, to banging my head on my desk as windows updated and a deadline slipped, to learning about Dickey Betts death and being super bummed, to listening to the links in this thread while my computer updated, to now smiling while I scramble to not let my deadline slip more. Betts’ music makes me smile.
RIP Dickey Betts

Anybody have a good link to the recent Dickey Betts tribute show with the big names/former band mates?

I had a friend go down to Macon for the show and said it was incredible. Google gave me this link to someone's taping and it looks like Nugs.net streamed the show too so I'm sure there's video somewhere. https://archive.org/details/in-memor....vwmule_202503
I still call it The Jake.
Thanks for the archive link.
I found a phone recording from a balcony on you tube. Other recordings are not accessible on YouTube (private). I saw short clips of the nugs vid recording on IG.
