    Anyone here doing Salida Enduro?

    Saturday, Apr 27.
It was a great race last year with two pedally stages and two janky.
This year takes the jank up a serious notch in expert/pro with a 5th stage racing Unkle Nazty down all the way to town.
Awesome race in an awesome town.

There's a fall edition this year as well, except over on Methodist Mountain. A bit less jank, arguably a bit more flow.

The older I get, the faster I was.

    Punch it, Chewie.

    Damn he seems cool.

    Yup, I'll be there.
I've done both of the Arkansas Hills races.
Really great events. Well produced and very professional.
Top notch apres race party too.

I raced on Wednesday, were you there? Did we meet and not know it? I'm pretty sure I'll race the next two weeknight series as well, probably not the one-day later this month but you never know.

Roxtar and I shuttled Cottonwood yesterday. He was in town for the weekend and I'm here FT now. Should've thought to see if you could join us!

Speaking of Salida, anyone done the Vaportrail 125? Looks interesting and quite punishing.

One of our guides did it this year, placed 3rd in the Women's division. She's a bad ass rider, I'm not sure I'd want to train for something that intense.

Ya, that’s what I’m struggling with right now. I’d have to do a fair bit of “training” type rides and then it starts to not be fun anymore. Looks like I’ve got until October 1st to decide, but my wife wants to do it pretty bad. She’s a bit scared of the cut off times though. Looks straight gnarly for sure. Mad respect to your friend who got 3rd Female.

Shawn Gillis, owner of Absolute Bikes, represented us old guys.

Not local so I only do the single day ones. I have a schedule conflict so I'm not sure I can make this one.

Nah, the NuMex is a nod to the naming convention used for new chile variants bred at my alma mater. But thanks for the reminder! (...off to update the location in my profile)

I didn’t race, but heard the conditions were pretty challenging early in the day. We had a pretty big rainstorm the night before, trails were soggy.
