    Subaru upgrades

i ran a search on this (here and yahoo) and all i found was things for upgrades to exisiting engines. Basically, i have a 4 cylinder outback, and its way underpowered, especially cus i like to drive like an idiot, it makes me feel better about myself. So i was wondering if anyone knows how much it would cost to buy a v6, and drop it in, or if its at all possible to find a small v8 and fit it in somehow, and how expensive that would be.

    Outback+v8=ridiculously beastly swampbeast tundramobile. (Drooling)

you want to hot rod a Subaru? why?

they make a turbo Forester. that just seems way silly to me.

Not what you are asking, but the coolest Subie mod I have seen is someone that made a WRX wagon into an STi wagon.

If you can find one (shouldn't be that hard) the 76-79 chevy big block 400 is an almost direct drop in. With a good rebuild (and chevy race parts are CHEAP) you can turn that engine into a fire breather.

If you could fit a big block under a Subie hood, how long do you think it would be before the trans. was in a kajillion pieces???

well a burly transmission seems like it'd be common sense, also, lemon, do you know for sure that era chevy would fit in a subbie, also how much would one run, and what kind of transmission would i need?

also, today i t boned some girls car. She ran a stop sign and before i knew it i was spinning around, and the front of my car was fucked. I couldn't move my car afterwards, and i saw anti freeze leaking all over the place, so bright side, her insurance will cover it, and maybe i can use this as a chance to throw some of my own money into the mix, and let the insurance company cover the cost of a v6, and me cover the difference to upgrade. So now im asking a new question, anybody know if it works like that, or if the insurance company just finds me a new engine and calls it good?

yea, the v8 really is something i dreamed up on crack, er meth, i mean crank, i mean uh, shit, its probably wishful thinking, but i was more wondering if anyone knows how much a subbie v6 would run me, and how much it would run to get it installed

you uh, know what you're talking about or something. Sounds like a plan actually, that should be plenty of power for my little subbie. Thanks
