Maybe it's just me but I think that's the first Alpinist toe I've heard of blowing up. My impression is that they've always been pretty tough, all the way back to the OG KP's
Impressive, I broke a toe lever once doing something really dumb first. I have high confidence Marker would warranty that given my past luck getting them to send me replacements for things I’ve broken/worn out.
For anyone not on TRG enough to keep up with things, here’s the thread on the heel risers we designed: https://www.tetongravity.com/forums/...Alpinist+riser
Two main advantages are a) getting a full 180 degree rotation is MUCH easier, since I designed the hole with that in mind. b) the riser heights and stability are much improved over stock.
We’re refining the design before the next manufacturing run in January. This is a maggot benefit project, I make zero dollars from it, but I encouraged my friend to price them so that his time spent on the manufacturing is compensated.
Is there any issue with running the heelpiece adjustment maxed out, like bottomed out at the very back of the track?
Engineers and designers know what they are doing when they set a limit. Adjustment track, DIN, FL410 for CRJ-200... etc.

And yet they only let us take it to FL three seven zero.

On season four with my alpinist but Just got them remounted onto a new pair of skis. I noticed today that they mounted them with a 3MM heel gap. Adjusted them to zero. Seem to ski a noticeable amount better. But when walking uphill with the heel turret spun around and in the flat position, sometimes the boot will catch on the turret as I lift my heel up. Any advice on this from my alpinist gurus?

I've only seen that when the forward pressure is one click to tight, back it off slightly imo
Anyone get on the alpinist free yet? Curious if there’s any difference in performance
