This is why it's often a good idea to maintain a (minimum) 1500 mile buffer between oneself and ones's relatives.

It really has been fun. My new favorite thing is developing new mountain bike spots that aren't on anyone's radar yet and enjoying the spoils of our labor on what feels like private bike trails. Like skiing though it's also kind of ruining me in that the busy popular destinations aren't places I care to go to anymore. Oh well, there's worse things than being spoiled!

Like when people try to lose weight and the people around them try to guilt them into eating junk food.

As long as you stay 2 steps ahead of the popularity and Instasham crowd you are still winning.
I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.

I don’t like the pills anymore at all. Back in the bad headspace. But just feel drugged. The spiders are getting loud and I’m not sure I got the fight in me again. This is getting really fucking old.

    Fucking pills.
Seems like everyone is on them.
I can’t tolerate them. Did plenty drugs in my youth. The legal shit they prescribe is nuts.
I’ve just decided to be a middle aged somewhat depressed somewhat anxious fucktard until the end.
    Good luck man.
PS. If you’ve been on happy pills a while be careful getting off them.

Yeah, both are signs of the depression fighting you. The anti-depressants I took made me feel like a zombie, except when I was just pissed off.

The fact that you aren’t happy with your current mental state is a good sign.

Thirded on looking into ketamine therapy. Sounds like your current meds aren’t working.

I know it feels hard-to-impossible to get up and do something, but it’s important that you seek help. You’ll thank yourself later.

I was just wondering how your ski day a couple weeks ago went? If you posted about it, I missed it but hope it was a good day out!

Listening to the most recent I think Guys We F****d pod episode right now and Krystyna is making a hell of a case for K injections. Worth a listen for sure! Starts at 24 minutes.

I haven't listened to a ton of their stuff but, damn, I love the perspectives and their own and address your faults and man the fuck up theme.

Heh, those women sounded kind of pumped. I’ve only taken K ‘unsupervised.’ I got it from a friend of a friend who has bad MS, it was oral but pharmaceutical. Anyway, it was a lot like that woman in the podcast described - really breakthrough experience.

    ( gonna) bump this thread with a short - I hope - anecdote (

I took two runs in March - first time since 2018 or absolutely the first time since pre-covid 2020 -

    so,,, wanting more, I went to CO in May ;

    Loveland was closed, so
    we went to arapahoe ( what I call, A. Basin ) ;
pulmonary edema shut me Down after three, short, Easy, lower-mountain runs.

    But it turns-out,
I did not go to CO to be on-skis (

the next night - ten.pm, (on) May sixteenth (2024), I saw a mountain lion.

    ( no shit. )

Life can be a strange journey -

I am no - longer long for this Life., but as long as we are living, through whatever Darkness we live through ! EMBRACE the reward of Life. !

ski you next year, Mir -
I work a little each day not-to-be a complete turd. Midwest was a "terminal-Intermediate" skier
( But, god, how I Loved to ski! ) --

Find your way through, magg.s !

I believe it is attributed to Churchill -
'X If you find yourself in Hell, keep going !(through) ! !! '

    peace, my friends.

    A f'n mountain lion. !

I hope if I ever see a mountain lion up close and personal I come away as you have, with a sense of awe. And unscathed.

I also hope there is more wonder in store for you during your time on this magical earth, and at least one good dog (if not more) to give you companionship and comfort as you make your way.

    Peace to you as well.

    Damn skij
Your contributions here have been great. Always positive.

    Hang in there.
A few years ago I was in the singles line at Stowe on the front four. Rode with three old dudes. Busting each other. So I asked their age. The two in their eighties were busting on the young punk in his seventies.
Keep sliding. Keep riding. Keep moving.

If you got other terminal shit sorry man. I’ll see you on the other side.

Played 18 holes yesterday with 2 other regulars, they grouped us up with CW.

79 years old, beat up physically from life in general. Horrible swing but when his clubface arrived at the ball it was straight and solid. He walked 9 with us and as we talked he let on that he had done an hour of PT that morning for his back and then a 15 mile bike ride. Further bullshitting lead to the discovery that he did 20 in the Navy including a tour in Vietnam on a PRB in 66/67 (said it was overrated and Apocalypse Now got it pretty right.) He lived down in Big Sky from when he retired until a few years ago and moved to town. All in all he seemed pretty content and happy with his life.

    Here's to ya CW.
