I was debating for months if the AM100 would be sufficient enough during carving season, still think it would be, but I've since come to the belief that the 85 will be enough into the slush season to warrant the gap in waist widths for my quiver.
    Absolutely the correct take.

I'm sure it's in here somewhere, but where'd the flex on the production rc95's end up? I believe the AM100 and R110's are both an 8/10?

So does that make the super comps about a 13? Also want to confirm that the recommended mount is -10.5 / 81 cm from the tail for the 183?

I'd say 13 is in the neighborhood of their flex! My super comps hand flex very similarly to my FIS 165cm Atomic SL skis. That said, the super comps soften up nicely after a handful of days on them. With regard to mount point -10.5/81cm from tail on the 183 sounds right, but MO would know best.

Push the Envelope: Heritage Labs RC85 and RC95

5’10 200-215lbs most of the time, strong skier. I like to ski fast and have a pretty directional skiing style.

I do get into the bumps a fair bit unless it’s just pure ice. Palisades has a pretty good mix of tight spaces, steeps, and places to let things run a bit. Even without new snow, refreeze leaves things variable with icy patches a lot when I’d have these skis out.

I got along well with 184cm M102/M6/Kendos when I demod them, had an older pair of 180cm Brahmas I liked a lot too. My spring skiing/soft low tide pair is 187cm Masterblasters which are the right length for that ski. Their edge grip on anything icy can be sketchy though.

Slight analysis paralysis leading up to the presale deadline - 183cm RC85 seems like the move for me for Tahoe as a hardpack/high pressure/icey variable and refrozen only type ski. I did pick up some 180cm Kastle FX85HP skis for a killer deal this week, but have yet to try them out and won’t be able to until after the presale is over.

Wondering if the 180cm R95’s might be a good choice too though. My original intention of a pure hardpack ski says 85cm, but if I end up liking the Kastles they might overlap a lot with the RC85. RC95 is more inbetween the master blasters and kastles, so keeping all 3 could be a happy place, or maybe the RC85 could replace the Master Blasters and Kastles?

Can anyone compare 180cm RC95 to 183cm RC85? Which will be better slithering through the bumps? I assume the RC85 will be carvier and faster edge to edge, but sometimes wider skis can be a bit more powerful punching through cruddy snow and skiing fast. I.e. I liked the M102 a lot better than the Kendo when I tried them last season.

Also - can anyone provide some kind of benchmark comparison for what the RC’s are like compared to more standard big brand hardpack skis like the Brahma, Mantra M7, Kastles, etc? Just trying to get a better idea since I can’t demo these.

    Thanks yall
