    Portugal cycling?

A bit early on this but....family (wife & 16 year old son) going in mid july. Bringing my cycling kit for road/gravel - any recommendations for a good cycling shop with rentals? Staying in lisbon and portimao while there...hiking advice too appreciated. Thanks

thanks, will contact. was just hoping to do a day or 2 during our 10 day stay there. maybe even pay someone to take me on a good ride.....didn't want to do a group tour. or just wing it solo.

I lived in Cascais for 3 months. If given the choice between that or Sintra, i would choose Sintra any day in a heartbeat. Cascais is wealthy, great boardwalk, some good restaurants, really awesome surfing, but not a ton to see. Sintra has a handful of extravagant palaces, a castle, and world class beaches.

In a 2013 september time frame coming home I talked to people on the plane who had walked the camino during august and they were talking about 40

To hike 800kms takes a month and a half while riding it only takes 3 weeks so we started much later and the temps were fine for biking at 25 or 30 and we did hit one BIG storm

further north riding the south of france in 2007 was ok in august
