NCAA and NIL Debacle
Apparently the NCAA leaked that Tennessee was under investigation which has sparked a major uproar. Apparently, after NCAA lost and NIL came into existence, under NCAA's current policies, the funding source of the NIL for colleges cannot engage with a player until after the player files a Letter of Intent with a college. So, the player is running blind on how much NIL will be offered until after the committment.
NCAA is apparently after Tennessee and Florida for having boosters fly prospects in private aircraft prior to commitment.
On Wednesday, the Attorney Generals for Tennessee and Virgina filed suit in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee alleging Sherman Anti-Trust violations. I read the suit, and after several rulings against the NCAA, all of which were cited in the complaint, the position seems pretty solid. Of course, the NCAA has yet to respond.
Likely another blow to NCAA's monopoly on college sports in the making.
My plan would be secession. Take the SEC powers and money, and tell the NCAA to shove it.
In order to properly convert this thread to a polyasshat thread to more fully enrage the liberal left frequenting here...... (insert latest democratic blunder of your choice).
