No. both are expensive, people who are stepping on product arent into wasting product. they dont just leave shit around whoopsie doopsie as a matter of practice. And you would have to accidentally mix in a hefty amount to make a difference. Fentanyl is powerful, but it has reached unfounded urban legend proportions: https://www.npr.org/2023/05/16/11757...misinformation

As for the highs. fentanyl, in the right dosage, can provide a nice euphoric effect while also knocking off the edge on the jittery/fidgety effects of uppers (think coke/meth/molly). So, you can take a diluted/shitty bag of blow, add a smidge of fentanyl to enhance the euphoria, knock off most of the jitters, and voila you have super dilluted product that people love.

Mixing uppers and downers is popular for a reason- many of them negate each others negative effects. Blow keeps your drunkass from being groggy and slow, and booze helps to keep the jitters and anxiety down for mr nose candy. There is goodreason why speedballs are "popular", or why redbull vodkas are popular, etc.

That NPR article is strictly about the low risk to law enforcement, which is out of context. Ingesting fentanyl in small amounts is deadly, especially to someone that doesn’t have a tolerance to opiates. As others have stated, fentanyl is cut with cocaine to make it more addictive and because it is cheap.

The fact that people dealing fenty use respirators and gloves says a lot.

    PS. RIP belushi. Speedballs kill.
    Kill all the telemarkers
But they’ll put us in jail if we kill all the telemarkers
    Telemarketers! Kill the telemarketers!
Oh we can do that. We don’t even need a reason

The point was that no, people aren't ODing on trace amounts of fentanyl that get into their blow from cross contamination. Fentanyl is intentionally added, and sometimes too much is added.

I have friend that intervened and confiscated one of her neighbor’s drugs off her and put them in her own pocket. She needed up needing narcan just from having those pills in her pant pocket

That's not why she needed narcan

Cops OD'ing on fentanyl just by touching it is bullshit and is all going to be the next big LEO disability scam.

Not buying that at all. And if the drug was in pill form (not powder) it's even less believable.

I asked anesthetist bro about fentynal and he said they use exact amounts of it under controled situation in the OR but the orders of magnitude in strength are what is kills people

Probably more so from skin contact on her hand than being in her pocket? A sweaty palm can rapidly increase absorption.

OD'ing from skin contact with fentanyl has been debunked numerous times.

OD'ing from opioid use which was later blamed on skin contact with fentanyl has happened numerous times.

Just happened to talk to my friend who’s an anesthesiologist and deals with this stuff every day and he said, yeah, skin absorption could maybe get someone a little high but OD would be tough unless they were swimming in it. I don’t know but I’ll take his word for it.

Having said that, people lie to cops and paramedics all the time if they’re holding a substance so I could see them erroring on the safe side and administering Narcan.

I could maybe understand an OD from breathing in a cloud if a bag of "heroin" that was too much fentanyl was dispersed rapidly in a confined area, but that's going to be a pretty rare situation and very close to intentional.

Fentanyl patches (like nicotine patches in method of drug absorption) are not infrequently used by people in chronic pain (terminal cancer etc). Also Fentanyl is used in your local ER via IV for pain relief in patients under going quick procedures (like getting a broken bone moved back into place)

Not intending to steer the conversation to overuse of opioids. Just saying that Fentanyl is not reserved for special use in small doses in the OR by anesthesiologists. There are people in your community prescribed fentanyl for legitimate reasons (and of course people prescribed it for less legitimate reasons or people using fentanyl patches they got illicitly)

I've had fentanyl a couple times in medical situations and it's pretty nice.

My wife won’t even smoke weed but jokes about going through pregnancy again just to get it for the delivery.

I’ve had it once that I know of during a biopsy- very dreamy/floating in a cloud feeling.

All narcotics except Morphine and dilauded make me nauseous as can be. The same for many anesthesia meds, including the ones that are supposed to rarely cause nausea. Throughout a lifetime of procedures and surgeries, I would awake from anesthesia sick and violently vomit for hours and feel nauseous for a full day.

A few years ago, I had an anesthesiologist who actually listened and used a cocktail that used Fentanyl. I woke up like I took a refreshing nap. It was incredible. I've had the same cocktail 3 times and it has been a real game changer for me post surgery.

I remember having sex on Vicodin and it wasn’t any extra fun. Maybe if you usually cum too quick you’d like it?

It does put me to sleep. I've never done opioids, I think I can pass on the fent. Was just curious. K was fun though.

What puts you to sleep, vicodin? Vicodin *is* an opioid.
