I think they have a humongous pile of stuff to offload. Check out the total available units shown for Fox forks on Universal Cycles. For example they have over 900 units of 36 Factory 160mm forks, 553 units are 29er and 338 units are 27.5, and are 1/2 off. A person can get a fork, shock, and dropper, all Factory, for less than retail of just the fork. It's low-key kinda fuckin' wild.

Their packaging was flawless. So at least you can return for warranty easily.

Levy and I got into trouble with Crank Bros for writing that line into a review

I feel its just and inventory adjustment.
I'm constantly getting emails saying "Your industry price (pro form) has be extended, increased discount, quantity increase ect.
Fox is one of the companies that has been emailing these this a lot.
I just think of these bike companies are sitting on a lot of product, and would prefer a bit more liquid on the books.

The warehouse at RaceFace is still full as it offsite. At Kona just before the BOGO employees were being asked to take bikes home to relieve storage space pressure.

Imo it's another season to wash out the overstock. Agreed?

Haha! Are you willing to share what a 36/38 Factory would be with your discount?

27.5 and 29er 40s were over $1000 CAD off on the fox Canada website around black Friday. Kinda wish I grabbed one then but can't quite justify a superdownduro bike yet

One Up releases a new V3 dropper post.
This is one that I'd put at the top of the list. (above the Transfer)

EDIT: I've embedded videos for 20 years and just can't figure it out today.

    Pinkbike had an article today:
    https://www.pinkbike.com/news/oneup-...post-2024.html

I'd also put the RockShox AXS Reverb towards the top of the list (but not for price point). If I was running SRAM AXS drivetrains on my bikes, I'd most likely run the Reverb.

I can't wait for more companies to develop wireless droppers. I'm not all that impressed with KS Lev's hit end products, but going wireless is brave for them to try.

Personally I’d put the V2 above the Fox as well and that’s on sale for $185.

Yeah, we don't like sending our droppers in for service.

V1 and V2 are also above the Transfer. @$129, you could have a spare sitting around for their biannual rebuild, though.

The SL Is nice (and light), only issue with the SL is that it's only a 2 position dropper, UP and DOWN. No in-between position.

Yeah, I had to wrap my brain around the 2 position thing, but I think it makes sense for a XC hardtail type application vs. getting off the bike an lowering the saddle a few inches after a long climb.

I've been using them on some gravel builds with 27.2mm seatposts. The only 27.2 options are the SL 50mm or 70mm. For that small of a drop a 2 position post works just fine.

curious- i had the gen 1 transfer , or maybe it was two? anyway the one with the prior seat tube clamp , never had an issue with it,

was the last inch bad seal issue a bigger issue with the current model/new seat clamp style, or some of y'all had issues with gen 1 too?

also for all the v2 oneup love, i never got it. had a 210, always rattled, seat clamps always creaked. sold it at a loss , but someone is loving it now. just don't get it, but the v3 has me interested again if you believe the marketing speak about the anti rotation stuff, more pins, and lightweight, might make a fun option in 180 for my WW stumpy build
Do I detect a lot of anger flowing around this place? Kind of like a pubescent volatility, some angst, a lot of I'm-sixteen-and-angry-at-my-father syndrome?

    fuck that noise.

Droppers are weird some people have bad experiences. I own two transfers.

Per Strava have a v1 that has 6500ish miles on it (bought it used) and it’s never been rebuilt. Works fine. A bit slower return now but it’s fine. Mainly an issue with a bikepacking seat bag.

I have a v2 with about 3000 miles on a different bike. No rebuilds. Feels like new.

The only post that ever gave me issues was a 2015 reverb… fussy getting it bled a few times but fine after that. Tangential but I have some buddies who immediately hack up their shifting. I have a theory that they don’t soft pedal as the cassette changes gears and damage the shift ramps on a cassette. A few hundred miles in and the bike just won’t really shift right anymore. Kinda like how a good how a driver can get 300k out of a manual transmission in a car and a bad driver gets 80k.

Is this the case with droppers or am I just lucky? I just don’t know how I’ve never really had issues… KS? No issues. Fox? No issues. Bike Yoke? No issues.

I have a new bike that came with a Transfer. Believe it or not, my first dropper. If/When this thing dies, how do I pull it while keeping the internally routed cable in place? On vacations, I'll make sure I have a non-dropper with me and want the least hassle to remove and reinstall the dropper once fixed.

I've done zero research on these, but I assume the cable is attached to the bottom of the post. Maybe they can't be removed and yet keep the cable in place. Pivot Mach 4 - am I making too much of a big deal, and the cable is easily threaded back into the frame anytime you remove the post and cable?

Transfer's cable nipple attaches at the bottom of the dropper post, and the cut cable is held at the bar lever with a set screw.

I typically undo the lever from the bar, push some housing into the frame, and lift the post out of the bike, unhook the cable from the post.

The 200mm Performance Elites are down to 119 and the Race Face Version is 109...
