Thought you were kidding about “dishwasher safe”, but I see that is actually a real thing? Hmm, yet another thing I will never try.

I thought it was crazy back in 1999 when his cfo and that french foreign legion guy tried to beat him to death with a rubber hammer.
After that I think he turned into a bit of an asshole. He started cheating on his wife with a 20 something year old that became his second wife. Glock was odd guy before then too but always seemed to have a lot of lead in his pencil.

"At the age of 70, in July 1999, he survived an attempt on his life when an investment broker who managed his assets hired a former wrestler to attack him with a rubber hammer, a court heard.

Glock had grown suspicious of how the broker was managing his affairs and had flown to Luxembourg to confront him, lawyers said. He suffered seven blows to the head but fended off the assault. The broker, Charles Ewert, and the attacker, Jacques Pecheur, were both jailed."

I'm not saying Glock was a badass but Chuck Norris was a spokesman for him.

Accuracy in all things is very important to me. It's a tenet of mine that I try to adhere to in every aspect of my life from literally brushing my teeth to holding someone's life in my brain that they wont even think of for decades, or maybe tomorrow. Most especially when it comes to taking life. I've never killed a human. Many many animals. I've watched people die, I have saved people's lives, I have also watched people being killed and killing themselves and thus zero sum game there. I just hope that in that moment, accuracy, whether it be through verbal or physical, that moment matters most and is considered in an extremely global sense, including all the moments leading up to it and the ones that come after it. Purpose. Spell check your actions. Think before you speak, type, act. Autocorrect does not apply.

One and done at that moment. Whether a car wreck, getting pushed in front of a train, pulling the trigger on someone, or yourself. Accuracy matters, in mind and body. It matters in how you wash dishes, how you write, speak, or choose not to. How you move your body to be efficient or to make a point. Accuracy is such a big stickler for me. You tapped a nerve, but it's a good reflection of why I care so much. You can't round up in life, only down. It's also why I've never lost anything, have never been blindsided, or suffered from OCD. Like I said, I care about accuracy. I let things go personally with intention.

It takes a life long commitment and a lot of practice, especially when you are not at your best, but, it does matter. A lot. It's the key to honesty which is a completely different conversation. And only with honesty can you achieve empathy.

So yeah, I'm picky about the subject. Extremely so. But this was a nice reminder to strip my glock and give it a good cleaning. Not in the dish washer.

Although I have owned several, I have never been a huge fan of a Glock. I shoot them well, but have to readjust muscle memory from a traditional grip angle or I shoot low. I don't care for the spongy trigger.

And yeah, the Glocidental discharge is real. Usually when the gun is being reholstered and the finger is in the trigger. And the Glock explosion is real when shooting high pressure rounds in an unsupported chamber.

Remember, governmental entities always go with the lowest of three bids, and Glock always wins.

^^^ My P22 is no nail driver let alone a tack driver. It is fun to shoot but I rarely bother.

Why did the US Military go Sig?

For over 30 years, the Navy SEALs used Sig. In 2016, however, they switched over to the G19. Why did the military choose SIG over Glock? The high-quality design, coupled with the Sig Sauer P320's versatility played a major role in the military's decision to go with the firearm.

So many problems with that. The Seal's choose the sig over the m9 way back?

The armed forces cluster of side arm selections in the last 50 years shouldn't be a justification of who's better at anything.

Its like magazines saying "Truck of the year" its all a scam. There are a lots of nice things out there that are better choices to deferent people for different reasons based on grip angles, safety's styles, sights, caliber choice, barrel, cost, materials and weight.

Glock just made something that was cheap, looked good, held a lot and would work forever.

Yep, the military agencies, CIA, Homeland Security, etc. get to do durability testing in their choice, which does not always favor the lowest of three bids.

I have a friend who is over the armory for Homeland Security. They had H&K P2000's for years, along with MP5's and UMP's, but just switched over to Glocks. The reason being is that they also went to a B&T APC9 submachine gun with a receiver that uses Glock mags. So now the mags are interchangeable between the platforms.

Apropos of little to nothing. I would love to spend an afternoon with an MP5 and an ammo can and a closed range. Maybe one of those Hollywood SOG tactical ranges.
