    Willie Nelson

Just love the guy. Something about his voice is so comforting to me and I really love his arrangements. Currently enjoying his Great Divide CD but Stardust is also wonderful.

Too many great ones to choose from but here are a couple I love:

    This one always moves me

    Great duet with Bonnie Raitt

Love Willie. The only album I actually own is Red Headed Stranger and I've listened to it countless times.

Here is an interview with author Willy Vlautin who mentioned Willie Nelson in the answer to the first question posed to him:

    PS
If you aren’t familiar with Vlautin, he’s a fabulous author and a solid musician. Any of his novels are worth picking up, but Motel Life is perhaps his best known and The Free is my favorite.
His bands, Richmond Fontaine and The Delines, are both worth checking out, too.

I saw Willie in Ridgway, CO of all places, at the fairgrounds back in the mid-late 90s. So glad I got to see him live.

He has stated that he first smoked weed in 1954 so it’s certainly possible.

KQ--since you like Willie's singing so much (I do too), listen to Buddy Miller if you're not already a fan. That same kind of straightforward, no drama twang that's a lot harder to do than it sounds. How to convey the emotion without vocal fireworks. Buddy can't compare with Willie when it comes to material but he's got the voice.

Looks like he recently released a memoir where he details the creation of his songs and other stories:
